I went to this school and I loved it. The teachers are so good at teaching I dont know how to explain it and they make sure you get good grades. The lessons are very detailed and you are given review material before each test which makes me feel supported and successful. However, this school is not diverse, lots of Asians, Korean and Chinese people and a good amount of Indian people and white people. I noticed that this school has a lot more Jewish people then any other school Ive been too and they sometimes teach us about the holocaust and related themes even though they are not apart of the curriculum. (These are just observations, they are not supposed to be rude or hateful). There are minimal African people and almost no Hispanic people. Ive also noticed racism and microagressions towards anyone who is not Korean or Chinese. Since they make up majority of the student body, they sometimes are racist towards other kids. Ive notice this throughout all 3 years, but it wasnt too harsh or critical that it ruined my view on this school. Also, the students overall are kind of judgy or rude. They have their friend group and they dont like new people. Theres always so much drama around couples and friendships that it kinda gets exhausting. Luckily I found friends that werent part of drama, but theres many people in the school that are. I also noticed that the administration is not very strict. When problems rise among certain students, they try to brush it off and fix the problem as quick as possible without tainting their image. On the other hand, there were no drug use whatsoever in all 3 years of my experience at this school. Sometimes people pretended to do it with fake things but it got resolved. Overall, this school is really good for academics and learning but not as great for mental health or being socially welcoming/ forgiving.

1-star review absolutely disgraceful - turning middle schooler in political pawns. Schools administrators are political activist far left leaning.schools should be neautral ground for all opinions. If you are enrolling your kid be aware they will be forced to accept certain far left leaning and hateful views. They should be ashamed.

it genuinely smells like FLAVORED AIR in one of the bathrooms. quite literally saw a pencil in the 6TH grade hall girls bathroom with SUBSTANCES ON IT. there is literally so much FAVORITISM which is crazy ?? and way too much homework to the point where it is overwhelming. I do not recommend this school. so much gossip, and majority of everyone is lit so rude/judgy??

This is the WORST school Ive ever been to. I feel so unsafe here, as i could get jumped at anytime for no reason. People do substances and flavored air and are not even disciplined! There are a couple good teachers in each grade, but all the others are A NIGHTMARE. i have ADHD, so i have a 504. i had to email and talk to my teachers MULTIPLE times for them to understand my plan, and some dont even accommodate to the things on my plan. i get bullied SO bad to the point i needed therapy, and even that didnt help. if you are thinking of moving here, DO NOT, PLEASE. you will regret it.

This school is the best school in Maryland. The teachers here are responsible and care about how their children learn. They get class started right away and don't waste time unlike other schools. The orchestra program is one of the best. On my first day in this school, I made several friends from other elementary schools. This school is very good for children who have high academic achievements. It is pretty competitive and you have to work hard if you want good grades.

We have a terrible experience in the school the worse nightmare, my child was mistreated there to the point that we are spending thousands of dollars in psychological treatment.

The school bombarded my child with homework
Posted: December 31, 2018
Some teachers do not know how to treat children with disabilities
Posted: December 31, 2018
I find this not to be the case.

Clarksville middle is a great school! I went there and loved it! Most teachers are caring and extremely funny. I was able to make friends and get straight As all in one package. The comments below say that Clarksville is all about test scores, but that it not true. Sure, the school is a little intense, but what do you want? a lazy school? That's why it has top ratings. Do u want to go to a school that fails everything? No, I dont either. Plus, going there for all three years I can say it it was not all about tests. Teachers care and teach very well rounded. There are MANY teachers who I loved and still love. Sure there are some that I'm extremely angry with (even today) but you get that at any school. Its un avoidable and you will always get a bad teacher or two. But 2/3 teachers were great and don't know what I would do without them! they not only helped me with learning, but friend issues making it a great experience. Plus who do you trust, the comments from parents who didn't go to the school OR a kid who actually went there and is now thriving in High School and about to go to VT with a grant? Exactly. :)

I have to agree with the post created on June 25, 2011. This school is all about test scores and academic competition. Here there are two types of kids: Special Ed and Gifted. The in-betweens don't really exist. Most of the teachers have a master's degree, but few are down to earth. MSA scores is all that's on their minds at CMS. If your child is average, I would look for a private school-- he or she will likely feel inadequate.

Don't be fooled by the stars and blue ribbons. All this place cares about is test scores. If you have a child in need of support, good luck! There are a few 5 star teachers in each grade, but overall they are arrogant and quite comfy in their lofty perches. If you have a smart kid who learns differently - seriously, move or go to private school to make room for the lemmings. Your bright child's natural creativity and out of the box thinking will not be realized here.
