Am currently attending HOHS. Absolutely fantastic school! Options for APs and advanced rigor are plentiful here, along with great athletic programs. Would never regret attending!

The academics at this school are good compared to other schools in the county but I have been called racial slurs multiple times at my time at Howard High School. Being black at howard is hard either the teachers or the students are ignorant. There may not be any fights but the discrimination at this school is very much real.

Its pretty cool! I enjoy going here and participating in sports and other activities. Its really crowded, but not to the point of discomfort. Teachers are chill and overall good at their jobs.

Excellent school! I have a senior and freshman presently enrolled. Very strong academic and athletic programs, particularly happy with the career academies at the ARL. My older son is already taking the principles of accounting at the local community college this year and will complete an internship at an accounting firm next semester as part of the Finance Academy, an outstanding college prep curriculum. Great teachers, great administration and a no-nonsense approach have made for a great experience. Top-notch Howard County school!

SEVERELY OVERCROWDED!!!!! Howard is a good school, except there are 2,000 students in a school built for 1,450. Howard County BOE's made a Huge Mistake in voting to put High School 13 (currently set to open in 2013) in Jessup instead of Elkridge, where the population in Howard County is. Also Howard High bus schedule has students on buses at 6:30 am to get to a school that open far to early at 7:20. This could be a great school, has some good and great teachers, solid extra circulars but severe overcrowding and the ridiculously early bus and start times make it a poor choice for students.

That is not a school's mission. Parents should be who develop character in students.

Parent of a current sophomore and a freshman. Cannot say enough about this school. The academic choices are fantastic for both my overly intellectual child and my sports enthusiast. The leadership, teachers, parents and community work together with passion and enthusiasm for the kids' best interest. FANTASTIC High School!

I'm presently a parent of a sophomore and even though she complains about the rigorous academic challenge I know that this school is great for her future. The staff and teachers are phenomenal and work with you to ensure their students have a great Future.

Am so happy that my son was in this school...all his teachers were amazing and the principal and counselors have done so much to support him. It has been a truly fantastic four years here.

By far the best school in the HCPSS. I'm a sophomore here, my older brother spent 3 years here, and my younger brother is an incoming freshman. The school is great. There are many classes you can take-for whatever interests you. There's a great science and math program. Also, the electives you can take have a wide range. From computer science to art to strength and conditioning to principles of business. There's everything. The students are much disciplined and know the consequences of their actions. The administrators are really in it for the best interest of the kids. Howard's sports are up and coming and have been successful in the past. Also, the school offers an Army JROTC program that many students are enrolled in because f the discipline learned. My dad and two aunts graduated from here, and like them, I love it and can't wait to be a proud graduate in 2015.
