I would not recommend this school. There is violence between students almost everyday and the teachers are being too gentle with breaking up the fights. The special education kids are like in your regular classes and they don't have a special teacher assisting them so they're disrupting the class (not trying to be rude in any way) and the teachers don't know what to do. The teachers are nice though. The buses are a mess. Kids are throwing things at the walkers (including me) that are walking home from school. I just think this school needs better staff that isn't gentle. Also, we went into lockdown because a kid had a knife.

As a former student at MHMS (2022-2025), I experienced consistent bullying throughout all three years of middle school. Despite having two different principals during my time there, the school never addressed the issues. I even attempted to transfer to another school, but my transfer recommendations were ignored because (one of) the principals failed to take action. I asked for help countless times, but many of my concerns were dismissed by teachers. Even when facing physical threats (at times having to skip school for my own safety) I received no meaningful support.
As a minority (I am white and Hispanic, though often perceived as white), I encountered more racism here than anywhere else. During my 8th grade year, groups of 7th grade students targeted me, but because they were younger, administrators automatically minimized the severity of the situation.
In terms of academics, nearly all of my teachers, with the exception of one in the music department and one math teacher, made me feel supported in class. I sincerely hope the school takes steps to improve for the well-being of its current students. Right now, it's just a guarantee for therapy.

This school do not offer support, bullying is a huge problem here and principal never, she will do not do nothing to help your kid. Once the problem gets to the medical, they will not offer you any support, the even tell you or ask you when you are doing a transfer that you not put the reason why you are moving your kid out of that school. Every single assistant acts like they never know that bullying was happening on their watch. But gets what, this wont change, they still get paid to do what they are doing, nothing.
Teachers here are not the problem.

My experience at mhms has been honestly pitiful so far. The worse part is that some students are genuinely wonderful people but the bad ones stick out so much and make the experience so terrible its hard to get by. With the very frequent physical and verbal fights going on left and right, vandalization of the building, and hostility from everyone (students, teachers, administration); there doesnt seem to be a safe place to confide in the school. Whilst there are SO many opportunities to succeed and be amazing, most students cant take advantage of it and instead choose to create a horrible mhms. I want to love this school but i cant because the intensity of the bad challenges the good

Our school went into a lockdown for a kid . Then basically nobody does anything work related and instead focus solely on relationships. There no such thing as really helping each other out in tough situations or religious beliefs and the food is always soggy.

My daughter attended MHMS and I'm so proud that with the help and understanding of her individual learning process she has moved on to the next level with better grades every year.

MHMS has a strong and supportive administration team that keeps parents informed and shows students that they care. Academically my child was challenged and when he did not perform as expected his grades reflected it. I think that makes the standards fair and prepares students for higher education. Activities are plentiful and the PTA is active and invites all parents to be part of events.

I went to Murray Hill Middle School this year. The school is very clean and the people there are genuinely friendly.

Dr.Dickey is really just the reason there are 1 or 2 star ratings and I can't say I disagree. Glad he's leaving
