The teachers would not notice my child getting bullied and wouldn't do anything about it.

We have had a good experience with most teachers at this school. However, the administration as of late is very lacking. They say they support emotional well-being yet let bullying runs rampant; even after several instances of reporting it. Many parents have experienced this and are upset about it.

I encourage all parents of students with disabilities or suspected disabilities that attend Greenwood Elementary School to closely examine their child's education to make sure they are getting what they need. Is your child receiving the interventions/services/testing/supports they need to thrive? If you are not satisfied, please communicate this at a higher level. Disabilities are most likely to be adequately addressed when children are provided with high quality early intervention services. A weak elementary school foundation often leads to life-long learning problems that may have been avoided. Change can only happen when people speak up.

I am deeply disappointed in my children's experience at this school from the administrators to the many checked-out teachers we encountered. Their academics have been passable but far from great. When we have encountered difficulties at various points, the school has not been supportive in resolving issues. If given a choice, I would never choose to send them to this school.

Had a terrible experience. This school has a terrible 3rd grade teacher that targets and bullies students. There is bullying all over recess and they dont stop it because restorative justice doesnt work. They ignore parents and bury issues. Assistant principal and principal did not help. Awful experience. We now homeschool.

What was once a great school has gone downhill. The behaviors are out of control in the classrooms, bathrooms, bad during recess. There is bullying that goes on and administration can't stop it. The academics are suffering and many teachers are burnt out.

the teachers are great but the front staff is the worst. I had a problem with the person in charge of the nursing department, since my daughter had an upset stomach and wanted to vomit, they called me to pick her up, I went and picked her up after that, she was fine, she ate normal and did not have a fever. The next day she wanted to go to school and I saw that she was fine and I took her and she was okey. no fever nothing. While she was there, she (from the nursing departament) called me to tell me that I had to pick up my daughter, she had to wait 24 hours after the symptom and I told her she was okay, but she insisted that it was the school rules. . My husband picked her up and then I called to ask if my daughter could go to school the next day since she had no symptoms since the afternoon before. She only chose to answer me like a recorder "if she doesn't have a fever, no symptoms, etc." and I said yes I understand but I wanted to hear from her tell me yes if your daughter could come tomorrow since she hasn't had any symptoms since the afternoon before but No, she just hung up the phone on me. like a rude what I didn't want was to take my daughter with me the next day and she told me again she had to wait 24 hours because yesterday we returned her. If she behaves like this with an adult, I doesn't even want to imagine how she will behave with children.

Wonderful school that provides a supportive system to students all the way to middle schools. Teachers and staff are involved and supportive. They ensure the students are getting the education they need.

Homework is assigned as a way to reinforce what is taught. The learning, however, happens in the classrooms.

They have a growth mentality that allows them to continue to grow as professionals.

New principal and assistant principal have a great track record as leaders. They are knowledgeable, personable, and have that "kids first" mentality.

As an MCPS employee, as well as a parent of a student at Greenwood ES, I am highly impressed with leadership, the teachers, and the innovative culture of the school. We moved from the Wootton High School cluster to Sherwood, and have been impressed both as a parent, and as an MCPS employee.

Having just moved to the area we've found the community to be very friendly and support of the school. The teachers overall seem to be great no matter the grade. The class sizes do seem large, but that's Montgomery County Schools for you. HUGE PTA presence and TONS of parent involvement. Principal is fine, but the Vice Prin. is AWESOME!

This school is good as far as the teachers are concerned but the climate is terrible. The teachers are not supported by the principal. The principal is unsupportable of staff and students. This woman is the worst principal in the history of the school. You can feel the air of unhappiness when you walk through the front door. Greenwood is not a welcoming place, for students, teachers, or staff.

Great school teachers. Worst principal ever, she is the kind of person that promise something to 6 years old kid and in the end she''s proud of not doing it and even talks about what she did, and after says don't talk back you are not allowed to talk back. If she is a good principal ... good luck! I would be ashamed . Next time get someone of your own age to talk too.

I agree worst principal ever! For her only some are good the others are not considered! Rated less than zero.

Very unhappy due to the administration. The principal comes across as a bully. She is unwilling to see other peoples point of view. The teachers are great considering they have a such a horrible principal.
