Honestly, the teachers at this school arent the problem, they try to do their job and teach. The real issue is the students. Theres a serious lack of discipline, and it feels like almost every bathroom has kids smoking. Ive also heard about students bringing weapons to school, and it seems like the school doesnt always find out. There are also gangs involved, and fights happen frequently. On top of that, there are a lot of students dealing drugs, and robberies happen daily. Overall, its a really unsafe environment because of the student behavior, not because of the teachers.

Really bad experience for my son. He was introverted and needed support. Social scene awful. Too big. Not enough attention. Academics strong. Emotional and social support terrible. I should have pulled my son out. Tough tough place!

today a student from walter johnson brought a gun to the school, and i believe with everything going on at this school it is staring to turn bad, like the walter johnson football game vs bcc after fight, and now the gun, including people who smoke in the bathrooms

This school is over crowded, not organized and under staffed. My daughter went without an in person Geometry teacher until the fourth quarter. Most teachers are not invested in the students and how can they be with so many. One teacher never learned my daughters name for the entire year Very little hands on instruction, all work is done on computers. The computer system is a mess and booted students out randomly losing all their information. The one department that is excellent is English, teachers did an exceptional job teaching and grading in a timely manner. Hope next year is better.

Students are very competitive in both academics and in sports. This school is very diverse, with many friend groups to choose from. Thankfully, they are splitting students into two schools, as it has gotten to be quite overcrowded. The location is great for their open lunch policy which allows students to go to Giant, G-Square (containing a flippin' pizza, Subway, and Chipotle), and Montgomery Mall. The staff is kind and demanding from students, making it a great school to prepare you for college.

Both our kids started at KP... then NB and graduated from WJ. Great school. Many activities. They always enjoyed it.

The best choice for my child. In all 4 years, weve never experienced anything negative. So many clubs to choose from to help students get involved in their school. Lots of AP and Honors level classes to prepare students for college level work.

Recently moved here from Colorado and the school is terrible in comparison to my previous school. The sense of community and integrity is almost nonexistent, and the learning is as if you are forced to memorize information rather than understand. I made deep connections with some teachers, but this school really ain't it

Excellent, we moved to the area when my son was in 7th grade, and he was welcomed by the other kids, and made friends easily. He is now in 10th grade, and has had success both acedimcally and socially. We are very happy with the school and feel it is a notch above any other public schools our children have attended in the past.

It has been a pleasant experience. The teachers and counseling staff took the time to figure out a plan for my son even though the end result I did not agree with. My sons friends are nice. I love the different academic programs they offer freshman to succeed in High School.

My daughter has thrived at this school, making many friends and enjoying the academics. In addition, there are so many activities in which to get involved. She is involved in softball, theater, the Harry Potter Club, music, and more. If you can ignore the heavily political County Board of Education, and focus on the school, it is an outstanding choice.

This school has been great for my son. His English teacher was patient and when he was failing this subject, she made him "snap out of it" and he received an A. All his other teachers has been great and patient too. He is now an honor student. Can I say the school staff, e.g. office personal, counselors, etc. are great too? They treat every single person entering the school equally and with respect.
