This School stoops to the lowest levels when countered by [aretns and community members, leading many kids to feel that there expression, and speech is being stripped from them, piece by piece.

Camden Hills Regional High School is one of the better schools in Mid-Coast Maine and is a relatively new facility, thanks to the dollars that were once here when MBNA was in town. There are some outstanding teachers who are dedicated to education and make the extra effort to challenge their students, communicate with parents, and are available on a consistent basis for help. However, because of the relatively high number of students per teacher, the teachers are swamped and aren't always available for help. Many, many students have to use the local private tutoring services for help and even the school's guidance counselors recommend them. The administration is fair, at best, and are more of the " the crowd control and hall monitor" philosophy as opposed to "educators". There is no student ranking here which a lot of colleges prefer. Drug sniffing dogs were advocated at one point to help control the fairly prolific use of illegal substances, but were turned down. Unfortunately, admitting there is an issue outweighed the benefit of really trying to stem the problem. While, overall, a better school than most in the area due to higher median incomes, it's not perfect.
