This school is very lucky to have some teachers that are well experienced and willing to help students. While the other few teachers dont put in an effort to try and help students if they are struggling. The major concern of the way this school handles punishment is very unreasonable, with threatening students of suspension if they dont comply with their demands without explaining what the student did. They also make students fill out forms that admit guilt without having a guardian around or notified of them filling it out, and if you were to not fill it out there could be added punishment for not doing so. Theres also been claims of them checking through students phones which if the students say no they would have to face some sort of repercussions. Overall I would not recommend this school. Some teachers will get offended and threaten punishment if in their mind you are arguing with them. They also dont try to hear the students out and only listen to the teachers side of the story.

The school is fortunate to have a strong team of dedicated and experienced teachers who genuinely care about their students academic growth and overall well-being. Their efforts make a real difference in the classroom
However, there are some troubling practices involving administration that need to be addressed. One major concern is that students have reportedly been asked to sign admissions of guilt without parental notification or presence. This raises serious ethical and legal questions.
Additionally, there have been instances where students felt manipulated through threats of suspension, and were even told that cameras were placed in private areas like locker rooms claims that, if untrue, are deeply inappropriate and damaging. Also, there are reports that multiple students were forced to show their personal camera rolls in an effort to locate a video of a fight, regardless of whether they were involved or not.
These actions create a climate of fear and mistrust and may infringe on student rights.

the school isn't bad I mean yeah a lot happens but they can't stop it all right? there are only so many staff members that aren't busy teaching the whole day to stop what happens but other than that I think that there should be full-sized pop tart packages.

This school is awful, they give your child a failing grade. Before your child even has a chance to do any school work they walk into the school with all D's in stead of starting them off with a clear record.

They break the law, allow bullying and treat everyone like they are a money sign. They made me sign a paper when we are moving out of state saying my child is being pulled out to home school. She is not being home schooled she is a Military child moving to another state due to the Military. She is not being home schooled they just want to collect money for her " being home school " it's against the law. Do not send your kids to this school. They sweep your child being bullied under the rug and think it's okay.

Smithville Middle School is very strict. In the hallways tape is laying on the ground down the middle and you must stay to the right side, if you don't you're punished. The new principal will not allow dodge ball any more. The teachers do not challenge you like they should. The only thing they did right is the band program.
