They do nothing to help kids who are bullied and encourage kids to bully each other. Never in my life would I ever enroll my own kid into this school, they don't even let kids have their own computers for work unless it's "academic". Multiple kids have told counselors that they wanted to die or couldn't handle being in the school anymore, yet the counselors do nothing to help the students except suggest they stay at the school more and socialize, which doesn't help some kids with mental health problems.

Buffalo High School has an extremely high college and career readiness score from the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education. This information is NOT mentioned in any way on the Great Schools rating system. Also, graduation rates are VERY indicative of a school's effectiveness; Great Schools simply regards college placement as the single measure of high school effectiveness.
The information you are putting out there for the public to see is incomplete and outdated. The school ratings do not include all information needed for those looking to move to an area to make an informed decision. Please consider revising ALL schools to include all ratings provided through the Missouri DESE annually as part of every district's Annual Performance Report (APR). College readiness is NOT the only indicator of student post-secondary success and should not be the only criteria referenced within your rating system. Students who enroll in technical programs or become gainfully employed after HS graduation should be part of the overall evaluation of a school's effectiveness. These pieces are missing from "Great Schools" data and ratings system.

I graduated from Buffalo High School in 1969. While it may not have the perks and pizzazz of other larger schools the small community closeness was a comfort to me and the teachers actually knew my name. I think it was a great foundation for me as I launched out into a world where many times you are nothing more than a number. I have many fond memories of teachers and students.
