Working at this school was great until it wasn't. As soon as I started finding some success as a teacher and coach, sticking up for myself and asking for what I needed to succeed further, the administration came smashing down on me like a hammer. Everything I did and said was scrutinized and from the start of the school year felt my job was under threat. Myself and several other teachers were placed on PIPs out of nowhere and a few of us were non renewed even though we had successfully completed our PIPS. Teachers were being fired at allegations of "disrespectful communication" by freshmen who they themselves were one write up away from being expelled. That being said, students were threatened with write ups and expulsion every day of the intercom. The atmosphere was more prisonlike than school like.
Furthermore, this school provides resources, even as much as thousands of dollars for school tuition to illegal immigrants and provides them with knowledge and training on how to resist the government.
Teachers are permitted to display gay pride flags in their classrooms, and students are taught about transexualism but no displays of anything remotely religious are allowed. People were discouraged from even saying "Merry Christmas". All this with a majority Catholic demographic.
