We have a daughter at Mid-Buchanan and we are very happy with her education and teacher quality. The parents and the staff are very involved and give the children many educational opportunities.

I agree with the parent's review (see 2006 review). The school hires ex-students to teach there so the 'good old boy' attitude continues. I have seen good, talented students put behind the students that their parents are on the school board and/or was a jock at the school years ago and now expect their child to continue for the old glory days. Some teachers, that are really good, do not last because when they treat the students equally and when they give a low grade to one of the good old boy students their contracts do not get renewed. Some teachers think teaching involves showing movies and taking field trips several times a year. The movies have NOTHING to do with the class; they re just used for filling time because the teacher is too lazy to do a lesson and actually TEACH the students. Some teachers get on the phone or computers and do not pay attention during their classes (and several students have complained about this happening not just my child). I have had several children go through the doors of that school and have dealt first-hand with the attitude at the school, especially the Junior and High School for the Elementary part has usually done a fairly good job.
