I am 100% sure that my sanity would still be intact if I had never gone to Southaven High School. The staff here (ESPECIALLY the counselors) will not help you. They treat their jobs like it's optional, and they act like you're the one bothering them by telling them to do their job. A lot of the teachers here are not helpful either, even more so if the class is a STEM class. There is no sense of unification in this school, all of the "fun" events are run by students who do not know what they are doing and they often do not turn out well, or it was only known by a small group of people given how little school events are promoted here. Do not go to this school if you aren't ready to deal with getting excluded from everything.

Southaven could be better if people werent so judgmental at this school and if people werent trying to provoke one another.

I would rate it a 10 out of 10 I love Southaven I've went to Southaven schools my whole life and it's been fun. I'm in AP classes and I think my teachers did a wonderful job pushing me to do my best.

I had 3 children graduate from SHS and 1 grandchild. No problems whatsoever. If you are looking for an education you will find it here the teachers are great and the no tolerance policy is fully unforced

It is not safe anymore. If you are white, you are the minority and you will constantly be reminded of it. DeSoto Schools pretend they are great but they no longer are, sadly. DeSoto County is no longer a safe haven from Memphis. I do think the teachers are good, for the most part, but it is extremely overcrowded and racially divided.

Southaven High School is a great learning institution. The teachers are great, they take the time to help the students understand the assignments.
