I went to the school from third grade to about eighth grade, and then when I got up to high school, I decided to make the move to a public school because they didnt offer what my education needed to be. Ive seen multiple of my friends be successful after graduating from there, but their high school program needs improvement. I feel that the lower school and middle school programs are excellent if you dont want to put your kid in a public school for any reason. But their high school needs improvement; the classes they offer just dont compare to public high schools. They also have a tendency to push things off. They hype it up as a fine art school, and I was in the band myself from sixth grade to eighth grade when I left, and their band program just doesnt compare to the band program Im now with. They try, but in reality, like every other public school, their money goes to sports more than fine arts, even though they advertise it as a fine arts school.

Incredibly disappointed with the change in school leadership. The best teachers are leaving the school, school transparency has decreased and the teachers who have not left are actively looking for new jobs. I don't know when the board meets, but that information isn't shared with concerned parents. I'm strongly considering removing my children from the school. I would not under any circumstances recommend this school. My children's things have been stolen on multiple occasions. The school has not taken it seriously and I know of one incident where a gun was brought to school and police were involved.

In the two years, we've spent at Invest, we are satisfied our kids are getting an education they wouldn't get elsewhere in Charlotte. We plan on being there for the long term and are excited to see the evolution of the school.

We've been at Invest for two years, they require nightly reading and have a reading log the kids are sent home with. It's pretty general, concerning the workload, they are in 2nd & 3rd grade. Not to much, but they bring home helpful work.

I've been impressed with the teachers. Both my daughter and son have grown the past two years, we've had three different teachers. My son has my daughters from last year.

Bad, we left and the new school is opposite this one. Other families who left with us say their child actually voiced they learn now.

They dont really have homework that tests the students.

I think they are restricted to teach the schools curriculum. Good gear here are there, but leave.

My daughter has been at Invest Collegiate Transform since the 2nd grade and she is now in 5th grade. My experience with all of her collegiate leaders and administration has been nothing but amazing. With the focus being on the Arts, it has truly brought out talents I didn't realize my daughter had. For example, she won the art contest last year for her picture to be on the program cover of The Wiz theater performance. This year she was selected to be on the all girls show choir. My daughter has truly excelled at Invest Collegiate Transform. It shows in her grades and End of Grade test scores. I know every school isn't perfect, but I can say ICT has met the needs for my daughter. I would definitely recommend this school if anyone is seeking an alternate school outside of CMS.

Not so great...my child only learn Advance Math because most of what they taught in his class, he knew already...

My daughter has attended only for one school year, however the staff is very welcoming.My communication with the staff has been reasonable, when I reached out to my child's teacher she usually responded the same day.
My daughter transferred from Mecklenburgs public middle school, where she was highly bullied, the staff teachers and students are very supportive towards her, following the "if you don't have anything kind to say keep your negativity to yourself. " Many of the students go by this quote. The only thing I could say is for less projects and more in school and homework curriculum with work for each grade level.

My son is finishing up his kindergarten year at Invest and it has been a very good year. In the beginning of the year up until about Christmas break I felt that the communication was not great to make parents aware of events or happenings at the school. His original teacher left at break due to family issues. She was replaced by the substitute teacher Mrs. Blackson. In the beginning I was very worried about how this sudden change would disrupt what was already a hard transition for my son. It turned out to be a blessing in disguise. Mrs. Blackson has been wonderful. Her genuine compassion and caring about my son and his education and growth are commendable. Mrs. Blackson keeps in communication with parents and has implemented structured homework and other items into the class which has been great for kids like mine who have issues focusing and get easily frustrated. She has taken the time to help us use the same techniques at home that she uses with him at school for consistency. Another great aspect of the school is the SCOPES afterschool program. The staff and directors are excellent and they hold the kids accountable for their homework completion and behaviors which is rare at afterschool. Its not just supervised play time. The staff genuinely cares about the kids. The end of the year talent showcase was phenomenal. I think I had more fun than the kids. I think Invest is a good school still suffering some growing pains, but they are addressing issues as they arise and if they can keep a solid staff they will continue to grow stronger in all areas.

I have only great things to say about invest. The Head of School, Danah Telfaire and her administration team are dedicated to creating change in the school. I have been here through the transition and the past year so many positive changes have happened, especially with the curriculum, visual and performing arts. I recently experienced "The Wiz" theatre performance at Invest Collegiate and it was WONDERFUL! The kids are super talented and I'm happy that my child is receiving such a versed and customized education.

My expereince THIS SCHOOL YEAR has been awesome. They have really taken the school back to many of the components that were offered to us at the beginning when the school first opened.

The additional investment classes ( band, art, theater, African drumming, vocal music) and after school activities ( cheerleading, cross country, girls and boys basketball and double ducth and girls scouts) have been great for my kids.

I think they are moving towards an integrated performing arts school with STEM components which will be great for our community.

I cannot wait to see what next year will bring for my kids, I am glad we decided to stick it out, it was really worth it!!

This school year they have really incorporated alot of character education in both their morning meetings and school events. My kids come home reciting quotes and discuss skits they have performed in the Leadership and Learning class.

The new Principal has really done a great job this school year changing the culture and academic program. My two kids have attended Invest since they opened in 2013.

Since the original head of school left, I have no clue who the current administration is. I never receive communication and I have never seen the principal around the school.

We gave Invest Collegiate Transform a fair shot. It was great for the first two years but took a dramatic turn in 2016 when the Principal was let go and many staff members quit and families left before the end of the school year. This school has been in financial trouble and has struggled to stay afloat. Don't let the big, beautiful building and great location fool you. There are not enough resources to supply basic needs like computers, books, clubs, etc. Parents are not as active in the school as needed. The academics aren't great either. Test scores are average to below average and, personally, I don't feel my son is being challenged. Like most charter schools, it either works or it doesn't. You have to expect some bumps in the road with a new charter but we can no longer look past the issues. Unfortunately the thriving and enjoyable atmosphere that once existed at Invest is no longer. We've given it 3 years and we are moving on to something else.

In previous years (K & 1st), my son had an adequate amount of homework. Homework packets were sent home over extended breaks and extra effort was required. Now (2016-17 school year), he barely gets any homework. There are hardly any projects throughout the year as originally planned and I feel like the work he does get isn't challenging enough.

My son had amazing teachers for K & 1st. However, the staff took a complete overhaul in 2016. Most of the great teachers left. Now we're stuck with someone who can't even speak or write with proper grammar. Barely any homework is given. My son is not being challenged as he was previously at this school.
