This school is not very welcoming to people of color. There are not many African-American teachers. There is also not a lot of diversity in this school so it’s hard for children of color to be feel inclusive. The front staff are very rude- they lack empathy and compassion. There is a lot of room for growth overall for this school. If you were looking for a school in the great area, this may be the school for you, but if you are a parent of a child of color, there is not a lot of representation here for you.

I am a student here and Rea Farms is one of the best public schools in Charlotte…I am supported a lot socially and academically here. This is not your traditional STEM school because Rea Farms is one of the only schools in Charlotte to add Art to STEM. The teachers are very kind and welcoming, and on my first day I actually felt like home. There is rarely any bullying here, which explains the test scores. Learning in an environment where other students share similar knowledge with you is really helpful and boosted my test scores. If you are moving to the South Charlotte area, and do not want to pay for a private school, I heavily recommend Rea Farms.

Terrible experience! Stay far away from this school. Children with differences in learning are not only not respected or valued, but they are not safe.

Great school. I have a kindergartener and 6th grader in Rea Farm. Teachers are very caring and supportive. I see why this school is a 10!

My son is in 4th grade and the teachers behavior is so rude. He was sick and the teachers behavior offered no help supporting missing work. As if the kid shouldn't fall sick. On top of condescending messages like i don't have time to help your kid, there are 20 kids in class. It is supposed to be the best school in the area. We will move our son to a private school next year. The school was wonderfull and talking to the parents all are seeing the same patters.

The teachers at this school are the best of the best. Since families attend through 8th grade, a community is built because everyone gets to know everyone and that includes teachers and administrators. It feels as though the teachers really get to know all the families that come through the building, and they genuinely care and are invested in each child individually. Extremely happy with the parent/teacher relationship that exists at this school.
