I attended Telra for a significant portion of my academic career. There is a lot of academic rigor, and students can earn many high school credits early. However, the teachers seem to dislike working here, and we often get new teachers every few months, which greatly disrupts the flow and consistency of learning.

The student culture is also a major issue. Many students are snobby and disrespectful, and some bully others based on intelligence. This creates a lot of anxiety and stress surrounding tests and academics. There are also far too many rules, and punishments are often disproportionately severe for the issues at hand.

There are very few clubs and extracurricular opportunities. Even when students try to start new clubs, administration often does not allow them to compete. As a result, opportunities to develop leadership and social skills are practically nonexistent.

The academic workload is also excessive. Even students as young as kindergarteners can have at least four graded assignments each week, in addition to homework, which creates unnecessary stress at a very young age.

Overall, Telra is a school that is very strong academically, especially for students who want to accelerate their coursework, but the environment comes at the expense of student well-being, extracurricular opportunities, social development, and consistency. Great for academics, but lacking in many other areas.

As a parent, I was very disappointed with my experience at this school. There are many stronger educational options available. I was concerned by the high staff turnover, which seemed to make it difficult to provide consistency for students.

Many teachers clearly care about their students, but they would benefit from far more support and professional development in gifted education, child development, and effective instructional practices. Most teachers have never taught or been through an education program.

My biggest concern was the leadership. The administrative team did not demonstrate the level of experience, communication, or professionalism needed to effectively lead the school. Decisions often felt inconsistent, and I left with little confidence in the school’s direction. Very petty principal and immature.

I sincerely hope the school makes meaningful improvements because the students deserve a positive, supportive, and stable learning environment.

Although Telra Institute is a relatively new school, its progress has been remarkable. One of our children has been attending Telra since its founding, and we've seen significant growth in his academic abilities. The school's strongest asset is its unwavering focus on academic achievement. The increased number of PE classes compared to other schools is also a welcome benefit, supporting students' physical development alongside their intellectual growth.

Telra’s practice of grouping students by ability rather than just by age accelerates learning and keeps students engaged. The use of Beast Academy in math—while different from traditional approaches—proves highly effective once families become familiar with it. It challenges students to think deeply and builds strong problem-solving skills.

Overall, Telra's learning model stands out for its rigor, structure, and individualized approach. It is an excellent choice for families seeking both personalized instruction and high academic standards.

Our experience at Telra Institute was extremely disappointing.

My children attended this school for half a year. Despite scoring at the top of placement tests and consistently receiving grades of 99–100%, they were placed one to two grade levels below their actual academic level — especially in math. We requested reassessment multiple times, but nothing changed. It became clear that this was likely due to lack of space in advanced groups, not academic ability.

After we transferred to a new school, we realized just how far behind they were. The curriculum at Telra was significantly below grade level, and we had to spend months catching up — especially in math and reading.

The final straw was a serious safety issue: on her last day, my daughter hit her head on a fire extinguisher box, leaving a bleeding wound (approx. 10–15mm). She was taken to the nurse, but neither I nor my husband were contacted. Later, the nurse claimed my husband told her “it’s fine” — which was completely false. He never received a call. We believe the school intentionally kept quiet because it was our child’s last day.

Throughout the semester, my kids complained about chaotic classrooms, disrespectful student behavior, and lack of support from teachers. Bullying, disruptions, and even physical conflict were dismissed or ignored. Parents were never notified — the school seemed more focused on maintaining appearances than protecting students.

The after-school program (Superlative Club) was no better. After withdrawing, they kept charging our account month after month. They promised to issue refunds but never followed through until we filed disputes with our bank. Eventually, we had to block them entirely.

The program was poorly supervised. My daughter once choked while drinking juice, and no staff helped — only another child tried to assist. She also experienced bullying, and again, no adult intervened. The promised academic support and enrichment activities? None of it happened. The kids were left to fend for themselves.

We deeply regret enrolling our children here. They fell behind academically and were placed in unsafe, neglectful situations. I strongly urge other families to think twice before choosing Telra.
