This year was our first year at elementary school at Wake Prep. We transferred our daughters out of wake forest charter academy (a truly terrible school 0/10, would not recommend) to wake prep in January 2026. The difference was night and day!
I haven't had much interaction with admin (and our school tour was lackluster at best at the beginning of the year), but the teachers we got for 3rd and 1st grade were absolutely stellar! Having a great teacher makes all the difference for the kids!
My 3rd grade daughter had Ms. Poole, and my daughter absolutely adored her. Ms. Poole made learning fun! My daughter particularly enjoyed a science project they did on the solar system and was so excited to share all the stuff she was learning with me, which was so refreshing! She actually enjoyed going to school and loved learning from Ms.Poole. Ms. Poole was kind, organized, and very communicative.
My 1st grade daughter had Ms.Miller (she married this summer so I believe she is now Mrs. Carpenter). My daughter also loved having her! She was very nice and well organized, and was very communicative.
We also were able to get the kids on a bus, which was very nice! Our bus driver was Mr.Dags, and he was fantastic!
Overall, our experience has been positive. The uniform policy/store is a little obnoxious, and car line can be tricky, but having wonderful teachers and a bus driver, makes up for the little annoyances in my opinion.
