We've had nothing but positive experiences with this school. My son has attended here for K, 1, and 2nd grade. The teachers have been engaging and supportive. My son is in speech therapy and his speech has improved vastly. They have fun family activities throughout the year and my son loves it here.

This is a beautiful school, and they do have activities to involve families.
My experience has been terrible. There is extreme bullying issue here that is never addressed.
There is no resolution, it is not a safe environment for a child.
Many days of work and school have been lost because of this.

My child had more homework in kindergarten and fifth grade but less in other years.

We liked most of the teachers at this school and how they taught.

Everything in life develops character - good and bad. However, I have found that you get out what you put in. School is the same. Happy families are involved in the life of their child AND the life of the school.

The school has been through lots of changes but we were happy.

Great! We really enjoyed our time at Forest Hills, especially being able to walk/ride bikes to school.

They hear and see what they want to and do nothing.

Posted: December 11, 2018

It is bad, not all the staff though. Some are great but they leave.

Posted: December 11, 2018

They dont do much hands on work, everything is just about computers now

Posted: December 11, 2018

The don't teach. Some lie a lot on the way they treat the kids.

Posted: December 11, 2018

The kids can do better if the teachers do better

There is none from what i have experienced

Disappointed and disturbed. We came here to get away from inner city schools and this is far worse than anything I've seen before.

My child came home with homework that had material they hadn't even learned, which didn't make much sense.

Posted: July 31, 2017

The teachers are on a schedule, so they have so and so amount of time and it's on to the next thing. Sometimes even working on stuff for 2 days then having to test on it. Maybe if they weren't too busy trying to go "global" they would have time to teach students what they need to learn. My child could tell you about places around the world but couldn't tell you anything new he learned about the United States or Math for that matter.

My child was bullied so much at this school. When voiced concerns to the staff multiple times, nothing was ever done. The kids got away with a lot and never took responsibility or had consequences for their actions.

As I said on question 5, my child was bullied and nothing was ever done.

I am not impressed by this school at all. The only good thing about it is how nice the assistant principal is, in my opinion.

All seasoned staff are outstanding educators that care about education and children. There are a few that don't seem to like kids but mostly, the teachers are amazing!

It depends on the teacher but homework os a chance to improve on classroom time spent on topic. As I mentioned, most time is spent on test prep..

Posted: May 25, 2016

The educators rock it!!! Cant say enough about the seasoned staff. The experienced educators are incredible.

FHGE has fantastic educators, neighborhood, and facilities. All children eat for free which makes a huge difference to many families. The IB push is a plus, language immersion a plus, just wish there was more emphasis on language acquisition, academics, and less importance placed on test scores and test data.

This is an AMAZING school! The teachers are incredible, the principal is fabulous, and the students are all motivated and hard workers. I cannot say enough good things about Forest Hills.

The 3 rating is not accurate in my opinion. Our daughter has attended FHE since 2010 and there have MANY IMPROVEMENTS in the last 12 months under the new principal. The teachers there care a great deal about the students and do a FANTASTIC job at challenging the advanced ones.

These students are collecting bottle caps to illustrate accumulation of over use of plastic and then will recycle them for a brighter future.
