My child has been attending this school since Kindergarten. We're still pressing forward in Elementary. As of right now, I want to continue to give RM Prep a chance instead of uprooting my child to different school and environment; but to continue to grow both socially and academically.

My child is not very motivated in attending this school; but I am continuing to encourage and always remain engaged!

Also, as a parent, Teachers, Instructors, Administrators, please always continue to keep us informed by actively communicating through Class Dojo, email, or even by phone. We want to be kept in the loop to what is going on!

I hope for a great school year!

Thank you all for all that you do!

Well i am i a past student at this school i went in kindergarten (2015) and I got bullied on the bus. I was a small kid and the kids i got bullied by were this big fifth graders. I sat next to them on the bus and they usually forced me to bring toys or they would squish me up against the bus wall until i cried. They also wrote on my backpack and stuff like that. once the bus driver moved my seat but that didn't help beside i got sat beside a crazy girl who wouldn't stop laughing like a maniac. I also told my homeroom teacher and the principle but they couldnt do anything because i didn't know their last names.

also other things. The school doesnt have homework.

Posted: July 28, 2018

With the help of Blue and Moore making sure the children are in class doing work and extending classroom time to make sure children can finish some of their work in class has helped

Posted: July 5, 2018

How can teacher be effective if they have to be scared of meetings with an intimidation head slamming things down in meetings and being talked to as if they arenÂ’t adults.ThatÂ’s no example to the teachers nor is correcting teachers in front of students now how can a teacher teach if they have been humiliated in front of the kids by the head of the school.Makes no sense.Teachers and principals are leaving the school

Posted: July 5, 2018

Mr. Moore and Dr.Blue have been the only one showing this type of character and integrity to our children and our children have respected that.WeÂ’ve had more graduates and more college bound children because of them but yet they are the two you are letting go when the numbers should speak for itself.Seems as if leadership has personal reasons as to why he would let them go and if they said it was because of grades letÂ’s be honest my children have been in public schools before where the number are significantly low so thatÂ’s been across the board for years now.And if it is a true factors then maybe the problem starts at the head of the school for not being able to sufficiently come up by now.Read the previous articles and facts of this level D school. At least Moore and Blue stay on top of teachers to teach he children and not stick them at computers all day just so that state funding will be in place before parents can withdraw their students from another failing school

Posted: July 5, 2018

Leadership canÂ’t be effective through intimidation of staff nor can it be effective if leadership has control over the board members when it comes to the parents complaints of the board will choose leadership side due to the fact of his approval of their seat on the board. It is a conflict of interest to have a head master who makes all of the decisions with no one for him to be accountable to.Leadership states his main concern was that of the children but he is willing to lose out on valuable principals who dedicate to the children he proposed was the first priority. The children are deeply hurt by the heads personal decision to fire our middle school and high school prinicipals. If leadership is not willing to hear the voices of parents advocating for their children and what their children want which is Mr.Blue and Mr. Moore as their principals so they can achieve a good education under ones they can consider mentors or even fathers then what type of leadership do we have.ItÂ’s said when you find out that the main priority of the Head of School really is money/funding and not the children. It is a conflict of interest to have organizations of your own and use them to benefit the school also or should I say use the school to benefit the organization which IÂ’m sure by now the pages of the organization have been taken down because parents are now aware of he motives but itÂ’s unfair that two principals who deeply love the children and these children know and can tell you without being prompted by anyone that now they have to take a loss. You have good principals when they know before hand that they are being let go but they donÂ’t let children know until exams are over to make sure they can contribute to focus on their work and grades instead of the problem at hand of losing who they trust and look up to.ItÂ’s also said when staff feels threatened by leadership to the point they canÂ’t be honest when it comes to conflict. We donÂ’t need bullying leadership or aggressive leadership but we need leadership with no hidden motive, leadership that isnÂ’t always pushing money, funding bigger gyms, and tournament rings before they push education. It doesnÂ’t take a genius to see many articles from leadership on improving the schools grades with the same two principals he brought in to do the job twice and now is letting go twice plus a rate of turn overs that are public to many.

Posted: July 5, 2018

From previous write ups on Prep IÂ’m not sure this is so accurate or their never wouldÂ’ve been an elementary student to make it to the talk show about being bullied at Prep and if their has been something put in place why donÂ’t the parents know about this plan to keep our children safe

Posted: July 4, 2018

No team work just I work, lf your leadership is bad , what do you expect.

Posted: July 4, 2018

If leadership s mess , how will they teach our children , they can't

Posted: July 4, 2018

A joke, the board is aware but don't do anything ,

Posted: July 4, 2018

Please don't let them any where near EC students

Posted: July 4, 2018

-1, the board is well aware of the concerns of parents and nothing has been done! My child transferred! Do not send your child to this school unless they replace leadership and the board!!!

Posted: July 4, 2018

The curriculum at RM Prep is horrible! My child learned nothing!

Posted: July 4, 2018

There’s some great teachers at RM Prep. Most have left because of “Leadership”

Posted: July 4, 2018

How can the students develop this characteristic when leadership has not!

Posted: July 4, 2018

Leadership at Prep is the worse I have seen it in a while! Profit-driven and not education-driven!

Posted: July 4, 2018

The head of the school bullies students and staff!!

Posted: June 7, 2018

This school is a joke, a NIGHTMARE.

Posted: June 7, 2018

The school has created a culture of laziness. Students would turn in assignments that are one month or more late. Administration wants the work to be graded at least an 80%. When students get below 80 in the tests or quizzes, they would be given too many chances to re-take it until they make an 80%--RIDICULOUS.

Posted: June 7, 2018

Effective teachers do not stay long in this school. Many "teachers" are not licensed and not certified. Instead of having qualified teachers, this school has established "permanent substitute teachers"--what do you expect?--VERY CONCERNING

Posted: June 7, 2018

The school encourages students to take online courses. The students can get answers to questions from the internet, then get good grades--they are fooling themselves.--WAKE UP!!!

Posted: June 7, 2018

Leadership in this school would try everything to please every CUSTOMER just so they would not pull out of the school--which mean more students more money for the school.--SOMETHING TO PONDER

Posted: June 7, 2018

The performance of the students on End-of-Course tests in biology and math -1 this May 2018 will speak for the school. Majority of them got 1's and 2's.--PITIFUL

Posted: June 7, 2018

The school does not do a good job on dealing with bullying. Students are bullying teachers. School would give one day out of school suspension or worse yet be given a 10-minute redirection.--HAHAHA!!!

I am a parent who has three children I am not impressed with their high school computer based learning system they do not have teachers certified on courses are being teach on computer based learning system and on the online courses with North Carolina virtual public schools they do not have to take the final exam was these courses there is no way to check what you have learned

Posted: October 16, 2014

RMP has come a long way in the few years I've been there. Sure, there are strides to be made still, but test scores are up, and we have a dedicated team in place. Parent support is critical, and we are seeing an improvement there as well. I only wish that the school would be more selective (in terms of student behavior) in the admissions process. I'm excited to see how students perform this year!

Posted: September 7, 2014

Great school, lots of things have changed here this year, seen big improvents in others, teachers, etc. The only issue is having most of the things done electronically.

Posted: May 2, 2014

Clearly one of the worst schools around. Lots of fights, rumored gangs within the school, and a ridiculous computer-based learning system that does NOT work even remotely. Headmaster calls himself a CEO...a business mentality in a school simply does not work. Greed drives this man judging from his willingness to turn over almost every teacher in the school within the past 2 years and then pay less qualified "teachers" that are actually glorified lab assistants. Please be aware that this school's poor performance in terms of testing may cause it to close in the near future. I would give the school a zero if I could-it is quite possibly the worst around.

Posted: October 21, 2013

I think that the E2020 program should've been tested more before bringing it to Prep. There always seems to be computer issues and leaves the students with not being able to complete their assignments. I think that there needs to be another alternative to learning when the computers are not functioning properly.

In the High School - an experiment gone awry - too many unfulfilled promises, too few teachers, and a total lack of leadership. The blended learning environment treated students as guinea pigs and teachers as expendable; in my eyes as a parent it was a massive failure.

Posted: May 16, 2013

This school is horrible dont come here even if it is your last option homeschool the kids.

Posted: May 15, 2013

My school is (Rocky Mount Prep) and it has to be the worst school in the history of education. I'm a junior here and I already know for sure I'm going to be in summer school for at least 2 classes. The blended learning program has been the worst idea ever thought up. If it wasn't for the athletics and the way my credits are I wouldn't be here. To be honest with you, jail is better than coming here. I advise everyone to never even think about attending this school. -I am a student

Posted: May 15, 2013

My school is Rocky Mount Prep and it is falling apart. Teachers are not being respected in class rooms, Lab is loud and uncontrolled and academics are not cared for. I believe they should have tested Blended Learning on a smaller group of people before they made everyone follow it. Then they would have been able to seek the kinks of it. Students don't care about doing work on the computer. The only reason the computer used is to unblock sites, so they can get on Facebook and twitter. Then everyone is rushing at the end of the year to finish their courses. You also have teachers who have not been to school in weeks and students need their help. Everyone can't learn on a computer. How can you add math online and not have an explanation for it. Right now I would not recommend that students send their children here just yet.

Posted: April 23, 2013

I would not recommend Rocky Mount Preparatory School to any parent. My 2 children currently attend this school. On 4/22/13, my son mentioned that the computer lab instructor had the high school students line up and gave them 3 options. They haven't had an Algebra teacher for part of the school year. They were told to decide whether they would keep the course, take it in summer school, or take it next year. I still haven't received any notification from the school. When do they plan on notifying the parents? Are you telling me that 85% to 90% of the high school class will be in summer school because the school has failed to teach the students? Since when children have the authority to make these forms of decisions. My child will not make that decision. This is my decision to make as a parent. The couple of high school teachers that still remain do not help the children succeed and do not help them understand the course work. The high school students sit in front of computers all day long, every day. This is definitely not an effective way of learning. I am greatly disappointed with the direction this school has taken and this E2020 program.

Posted: October 28, 2012

The school is headed in the wrong direction very disappointed. The new leadership is not making the positive change that this school needs

Posted: August 17, 2012

I think that the school is a great all-around school, with a great education system. Now that they have the new head-master their doing a new learning program called "Blended learning.". The school is really trying to pull it out and I think that they are doing an awesome job!
