Students: Wonderful
Other teachers: Some yell, but all try to make the best of it.
Admin: Should be replaced before we lose more of the best teachers.

Very little homework gets turned in so it's hard to judge. We are requested to write up every time this happens, but who is really going to sit down and call 90 parents every night, fill out 90 forms and then have admin blame you.

Some teachers yell at the kids all day (including Principle S), but most love the kids despite school discipline problems.

Rule by fear and "if you mention it I will deny it" philosophy. They show their best side when outsiders are near.

Principle J. S. acts like testing extremely often will somehow help students succeed. Their scores show this is not effective. The admin micromanages to the point teachers can't try new things to support those with learning differences.

Darden to me is an excellent middle school. The staff really care about the students succeeding and becoming productive individuals. My children enjoy the school and they love their teachers. Anytime I have had a concern, it has been addressed appropriately and without prejudice. They have been fair in all circumstances. They are not just concerned about the child but the family unit. I am thankful for my Darden school family and I wish all schools were as great as Darden.

This school has hardworking determined teachers, who are creative, funny, and yet manage to get the point across and really TEACH the students. All the programs such as AVID and higher Math such as Algebra 1 and Geometry, plus all the other academic opportunities here at Darden is what makes it a great school
