My son attended Charlotte Catholic and was part of the 2024 Graduating Class. He excelled at Catholic. He was so prepared for college that he had zero transition issues. The staff at CCHS did an amazing job developing him and setting him up for success. I could not be more grateful.

Academics are decent, teachers generally care and help students if asked. Counseling Department that places children in classes is a bit unyielding and condescending.

Students are mean, both girls and boys. If you want your child to be healthy and reasonably whole, don't sent your kid to this school. The cruelty is limitless, much worse than in public school. Beware if your kids shadow too, I heard some girls talking amongst themselves breaking down a student who shadowed, ridiculing her social media, basically stating that she was a piece of trash and not only unvaluable to them as a human, but someone to be hated. There is nothing Christ-like about the students, they are horrors upon horrors.

Kids at the school are fake friends to everyone the teachers arent that good there. Some of the kids talk bad to others because they think their better then others. Only thing good about this school is the sports program. Dont send your kids there especially if they have a bullying problem. You would find more real people at a public school.

Some either teach really well, try to teach but become frustrated and grouchy in the face of any resistance or slight disturbance by students, or barely teach and are too lax.

Our administration tries its best to help the students but ends up focusing on our appearance and a new addition to the school, the fine arts center, which is being paid for by students who won't even be attending the school when construction is over. Instead of adding new things, their focus should be on the already terrible school that has poor a/c and heating, bad plumbing, poor food, and terrible faculty.

For this school sometimes you're expected to believe words speak louder than actions. That is all I can say. Sometimes. Plus everyone's experience is different, but for me and a few of my friends: words were said but no action to solidify those words.

This asks for MY experience which includes my OPINION. One's experience at this school is subjective. I've had a good experience. I know I'm missing out on something, but I'm not exactly crying every night and begging to be transferred. A fact: this school is very cliquey. For some people that is not a bad thing and that MUST be understood. A new teacher who hasn't even been teaching at this school for a year told me that he thought the school had many cliques. I was more surprised than I should have been just because he was so new and already asserted that fact. Now, for some people that go here cliques are not a bad thing. I've seen people come to the school later than me and be accepted into cliques and they can tell you that they've had the best experience at this school and they probably have. I've just been used to being chill with everyone I go to school with and you can't really find that here. You'll have classes with people and never talk and that's what happens in the real world but people are strange about it. It's like you have to be accepted by certain people, and I will never understand that. The people in these cliques do not pay your bills, cover your tuition, and are not securing you a scholarship for university so why do they feel so entitled? I don't know, and I don't care enough to try and find out. I was lucky enough to come to this school with friends I was already close to. I made great friends outside from the ones I came with. Classes are rough somealotofthetimes, but that's school. This school has made me question my worth, but also forced me to recognize my value. I feel more prepared for the real world in certain ways. I'm learning a lot about myself. This school is not awful. There were incidents for the past 3 years to my knowledge where the pipe system didn't work and dirty water made its presence on the floors in the commons, in the lunch room, and in the bathrooms. We couldn't use several girl bathrooms for weeks, but with an old building - it happens. The principal and other heads of the school are kind. Unpopular opinion, but I actually like having monthly masses even if they aren't too interactive or engaging. I've found great people I can get along with, I try my hardest in my classes, and I know that that is enough. I've made it what I could. Although if you don't play sports and look different - Good luck Charlie.

luck of the draw. It really depends on which teacher you get. There have been numerous times where my friends and I have taken the same level of a subject (ex: "Honors Algebra II" "Advanced English") and I lucked out with the good teacher for that subject while they did not.

Seems good on the surface but if you dig a little deeper it seems to be a front for something. Very suspicious, do not trust. Not worth your money.

Very positive. The school pushes the students pretty hard, but overall very positive results. I like that the school emphasizes character and compassion, and I feel like my daughter is getting a good head start on life.

Foreign language teachers are not up to speed. How may times do they need to go over colors?? My daughter ended up taking summer courses at Queens College in order to feel competent in college.

Students are told one thing then the administrations changes their mind.
Example, my daughter was approved to start a club, then last minute it was rescinded by the principal because he did not agree with it.

If your child is different in any way this is not the right school. The principal is closed minded and the school priest is a bully. My daughter was an A student who had more liberal thoughts and they made her life miserable,many of the teachers were her allies and made it tolerable but they were all scared to go up against the establishment. My daughter begged us to pull her out. Since she was a junior I felt that would not be the right thing to do college wise. We stuck it out, and she is in a great college now.

Middle school was very good but when my daughter got to the High School I found that not only did my daughter need multiple tutors (on top of our tuition--which is ridiculous ) but so did most of the families we knew. The teachers were at best--below average on using variable teaching techniques and really trying to give the students what they needed to succeed---the tutors we used in the area were completely overwhelmed with the number of Charlotte Catholic students and they knew the names of multiple teachers that did not teach their students---the French teacher is terrible but truly there are multitudes--too many to name that are just not teaching at the level they should be--most much worse than any public school---I would not recommend this school to anyone that is in a decent school district or who is considering one of the other private schools---the other private schools are much better---we had children at Charlotte Christian as well and it was a much better learning environment and well worth the money.

Charlotte Catholic High School is one of the best high schools in Charlotte. The academic expectations are high, the teachers and staff really care about the students, the environment is safe, and the students are challenged to be the best that they can be. In addition, we feel really good about the friends our son has made there, during a time in his life when positive peer influences are so important.

I did not like Charlotte Catholic very much, yes the classes are good but the students are not so much. The discrimination is high and it is very hard to fit in. I have recently changed schools and like it much better.

I graduated from Charlotte Catholic and it is a great school for your child to get an education from considering it is college-prep. Close, religious community with about 350 per grade. Not to mention, they are great at sports. Go Cougars!

Both of our girls graduated from Charlotte Catholic HS and have gone on to study at great universities. The school is well known for student, family, & community spirit and camaraderie. Just go to any football game. The whole community shows up! Teachers are caring & well educated, with several from Notre Dame Univ. Not a lot of distractions in classrooms, such as violence. Fabulous winning sports programs. Parents are very involved in many of the programs & support systems. Most kids that graduate from this HS seem to move up to higher learning institutions and do something good with their lives. We will keep supporting this school even though our children have graduated.
