We have been pleasantly surprised by our experience at CFA. We have chosen to start all of our children from 6th grade on with the class size increase and changes in the public middle schools- we decided to consider other options. My son- now 8th grade has been supported and developed strong study habits and so much confidence in public speaking due to the projects and not just be taught for tests. They are encouraged to learn and ask questions and feel like their educators take the time to get to know them and care about their success in the class. He is challenged and yet supported at the same time. It has been an amazing 3 years thus far and we are excited to have our others join when they start middle school!

Four years ago (during the pandemic) we decided to apply to Cape Fear Academy for the educational opportunities. My husband, children and I have been very happy at CFA. Everything from the academics, teachers, administration, extra curricular, STEM programs, music, arts, food, and character building has been top notch! In addition to getting an excellent education, it was equally important to us that our kids academic needs were being met. We have three kids at CFA all with very different needs and learning styles. Cape Fear Academy goes above and beyond to make sure each unique need is met. We highly recommend Cape Fear Academy!

We have been at Cape Fear Academy for three years now and have come to know and love the school for so many reasons. When we decided to send our kids to CFA, we felt so welcomed by teachers/staff and other families that reached out to us even before our kids started the school year. This made the transition easier for our family. It was evident right away that the level of curriculum, quality of teachers and overall support for our kids was second to none in Wilmington. We continue to be impressed each year with how our kids are thriving and the opportunities they have, not just as students but learning to help in the community and be good citizens too. It is such a great feeling when your kids jump out of the car in the morning so excited for school and all the teachers/staff know their names, this is school family that we are so thankful to have found!

Cape Fear Academy has provided all of my children with a personalized and unique school experience. As a parent of four very different children who pursue very different activities and thrive in very different arenas, I have been consistently impressed with how well they are each supported, encouraged, challenged, and known. They're celebrated for their achievements and pushed to take risks. Knowing that they can try new things while exploring their passions is what keeps us here year after year (going on year 13)! Cape Fear Academy has been an integral part of my daughters education. The overall experience at this school has been fantastic. We have attended 7 years so far and plan to continue until graduation. I would recommend CFA to any family who wants the best for their children.

CFA offers many extra-curricular activities, sports, and clubs to give students a wide range of experiences along with the dynamic classroom learning they receive. They feel loved and cared for by the teachers, and they are challenged to do their best and step outside of their comfort zone. There are lots of opportunities for parents and families to join students on campus and be involved.

CFA has been a wonderful experience for my two children. The middle school program includes many different ways to learn- from your standard tests and quizzes, to writing exercises across subjects, to mock trials, etc. The teachers make the classroom experience exciting and different. The class sizes are small and the individualized attention that each student receives is great. CFA does things outside of the classroom that round out the entire learning experience. The Fine Arts program, sports and advisory programs give students the opportunity to try any different things. I truly believe that CFA strives to round out the total student and that they care about every child.

Cape Fear Academy has everything we want in a school. Our daughter loves CFA, and we've watched her self- confidence grow by leaps and bounds in her six years here. There are so many opportunities to shine at Cape Fear-whether its in the classroom, on a stage, in student government, on a sports field or even on an overnight field trip. The financial investment is worth every penny. There is a genuine feeling of caring and respect between the students, faculty and parents. I'd highly recommend CFA to anyone wanting a quality education for their child. We couldn't be happier with this school.

Everyone is very friendly and the teachers want the best for you. Everyone there wants to see you succeed. They give you life skills and prepare you very well for college. This is my second year, and i encourage anyone who wants to go to CFA to apply. I couldnt be happier at this school.

We transferred our daughter to CFA for her sophomore year from out of town and couldn't be happier. She was paired with a buddy who immediately helped her feel welcome. The teachers are a wonderful balance of challenging and nurturing. Academic offerings are impressive. Ample opportunity to be involved in sports, theater, community service, and a bunch of other fun clubs. Code of conduct is based on trust and the honor system. Great communication between teachers, staff, and parents. Summer programs for all ages. A vibrant and diverse community of which we are glad to be a part.

We currently have 3 children at Cape Fear Academy and the experience has been wonderful. We moved from a larger city to Wilmington a couple of years ago and more than anything else Cape Fear made the transition smooth for our children. The staff from top to bottom are first class. The school has its priorities straight and they make all feel welcome.

I have had 3 children at Cape Fear Academy since Kindergarten. I can honestly say that the academics have been very challenging thus far. My oldest daughter is currently completing her first year of Middle School and I can see that she has truly developed excellent study habits and she is reaping the rewards of her hard work with great pleasure. The CFA Lower School prepared her for the work load and academic demands of Middle School. It has been worth every dollar invested and every sacrifice taken to give my children the best education in town. From my personal comparisons, it seems as if CFA manages to stay academically ahead of other schools in the area by a minimum of 1 year and by 2 years in certain subjects. The small class sizes, teacher-to-student ratios, parent involvement, and additional skills teachers make CFA a strong competitor in the private sector. I am thankful and proud to be a part of such a great organization.

Ten years ago, soon after we moved to Wilmington, my wife and I were invited to meet with school administrators to discuss our expectations of Cape Fear Academy as our school of choice for our children. Our message at the time was simple and straightforward: our kids will one day compete on a global stage so we expect their education to be competitive with like schools across the nation. Last week we learned that five CFA Seniors were named National Merit Scholarship Finalists. Nine percent of the Class of 2011 placed in the top 1% of their US peer group who took the PSAT last year. Numbers do not deceive.....those statistics are impressive any way you slice them. We would like to personally commend the entire CFA staff for developing and implementing a regional academic program that enables CFA students to achieve at the highest level. In the past, when programs have not measured up to a strong national standard, the school made the appropriate adjustments to insure improvement. This is all we can ask for. I congratulate them for delivering on a challenge set forth a decade ago.

Cape Fear Academy is so much more than a school. It is a future builder. Everyday and I mean every single day, it is absolutely apparent that my husband and I have made the exact right decision in sending our child to CFA. And for us that decision came with some sacrifices, but it is so worth it. We have watched our little girl grow in confidence as her mind expands to the world of learning. She is challenged to do her best and beat her best, everyday. We are thrilled with the support and guidance our child and our family receive from both teachers and the administrators. As we ready ourselves and our second child to begin his school career, we are so comforted and, quite frankly, amazed at the completely open, honest and direct discussions we are able to have with members of the admissions team, administrators and teachers about what is right for our son now and what are the best steps to take for his future.
