Initially, my son had a hard time with the curriculum, very vigorous. However, I appreciated demanding workload because it enhanced his cognitive skills, vocabulary and confidence.

My family we initially live the Word. So I believe there is a concern, I teach my son to pray before he speaks. I encourage him to pray for wisdom and discernment. Honestly, if there is a REAL issue with prayer its resolved within 24 hours.

That tells me most teachers yield to the Holy Spirit. This is school is inline with our biblical understanding and home values. Based upon that, I give it a 5 star!

this school has been the worst school i have ever been at. i hated this school. first off, lets focus on the meals there. the food was always raw or not cooked all the way. i opened a burger and it was fully pink, although we complain they do nothing about it. weve been fed sausages with white creamy substances on the bottom, and even expired ice cream. (when asked about the ice cream, they said its fine, just eat it.)
Now that were finished talking about the food, lets talk about the eating environment. firstly, WE EAT IN THE GYM. THE GYM. there is no cafeteria. we eat in the gym. and not to mention the gym is full of roaches and rats and any other bug you can think of. ive seen water bugs, roaches, slugs, tons of flies, etc. now for the teaching. the only good teaching they do is for Bible class (which is their specialty) but still. all the other classes had terrible teacher who eavesdropped on everything you talked about, got nosy and asked you questions about everyone going to the school, picked favorites, treated others unjustly, and wouldnt compensate for those who had medical issues. (i almost ended the grade with an F and had to repeat because of my medical issue.) After you get through the teachers, you have to worry about the kids your student will come into contact with. I have personally experienced all types of bullying and have heard people bullying others too. Bullying and racism.. are those two different things? does that matter? no it doesn't because i have personally expirienced both here. by white people and black people, each and every single race has shamed me for my skin color and made racist remarks. its terrible. its out of control. all of the guys are also sexist and do sexual harrasment on the daily and go unpunished, my friend was sexually harassed and the school did nothing to punish him. the kids make sexual remarks about womens body and shame everybody else whos not in the main groups. not only do you have to worry about the kids bullying and racist remarks, you have to worry what type of substances your kid has to be around. people there vape, smoke, and all of the above and go uncaught even when told on.
Alright, so, the next thing im gonna talk about is all the fundraisers they do. 2-3yrs ago theyve started to fundraise for the football field, yet to this day they havent even begun making the football field. where are all the funds going? dont waste your money sending your kid here, all they will get is trauma. -exs

I find the diversity the best (in the private sector ) in the county. Nevertheless, the tuition continues to in- crease with classroom sizes as large as public schools. The reason for the huge sacrifice for private schooling, (for most of us) is for your child to have a one on one opportunity with the teacher. That WILL NOT happen. It's ridiculous the amount of work given to these students with very little guidance. Most of the responsibility lies with the parents. We pay them to teach. But teachers in private schools aren't paid as they should, just as in the public schools. Therefore, the children suffer.

The teachers "want" to be hard core, which is fine to a certain extent. But if you have 15-18+ students in a class, teacher balancing more than 2 jobs to make ends meet, Renweb/CANVAS doesn't work properly, and the grades appear to be Fs because the system doesn't work, etc.
You can't afford to walk around like a prison guard with a whip you need to help these children and parents who are making a huge sacrifice and idea of a better choice than what's going on in the public schools.

This school is very interesting to say the least. In some areas it is evident that they attempt to encourage students to be more open in their faith and to pursue Christ, but in many of the staff, this behavior is not demonstrated. Many of the staff at the school show favoritism toward particular students, and some will in a way target others. There have also been problems with roaches within the school. Roaches have been found in the gym, where lunch is also eaten. This is a clear sanitation problem. The lunch chairs provided for students are also worn down and many of them damaged, leaving just the bar instead of a usable seat. There also seems to be constant fundraisers and claims for the money to be used for particular purposes, however, these purposes have hardly been seen to be put into action. There are heating and air conditioning problems as well. And in many cases the classrooms have been cold to the point of shivering, or hot to the point of sweating. Overall, this is not a good learning space and I would never recommend this school to anyone.

The teachers teach their way with little empathy or help to the students. Im always stressed with the massive load of homework and general work required. I put two stars for Safety for the sole reason of the brash punishment they put on students. They dont help with racism and focus more on a dress code. $20 dollars for a detention is also insane.

My son attended the preschool program and Im so glad he did. They go above and beyond with campus safety. The teachers are so kind and easy to communicate with, and lead the kids in a Biblical manner. We loved the parent involvement events throughout the year too. My son truly loved this school and learned so much!

I am a student at BBA and out of all the schools I have attended this is the worst. I get bullied on a regular basis by not only students but why the staff. This school does not display christian values or morals like advertised. I have been.close to being beat up for no apparent reason and when informing the principal he did nothing. But the second the reputation of BBA is at stake he will go out of his way to make BBA seem nice. In normal schools rarely any student gets expelled or suspended, however students are getting detentions which you have to pay for and suspensions. And expulsion happen on a rather regular basis. I can confidently say I hate this school and everything associated with it. Would not recommend to my worst enemy

The teachers lack the educational background to successfully provide/facilitate post high school educational advancement. The quality of work and grades given do not reflect the lack of effort the student has put in. Students are given a false sense of superiority that will not serve them well in college.
Biblical practice and standards are not enforced when student fail to follow the dress code.
Lack of biblical practice also felt when a teacher own child whom is a student becomes pregnant in the upper school.

Do not waste your time with this school. They do not communicate with parents, their outline for parents lacks updating. Not worth the headache. There is no control over the students.

I have two sons attending this wonderful school. The teachers actively communicate with parents, the curriculum challenges students, the facilities are fantastic, and the school strives to develop character. My oldest son previously attended a Blue Ribbon school; my wife and I are far more pleased with the growth we've seen in our son over the last year at BBA, than we had seen over two years at that other school.

My daughter has some medical problems and she can be a little slower at times learning things. She has some memory problems which plays into that. They are understanding and patient. Not pushy and they do not get irritated or frustrated with it.

STAY AS FAR AWAY AS YOU CAN!!! This school picks favorites. They are supposed to non-biased, but they not only pick favorite students, but also parents. If you are a parent separated from the other parent, look out, if you are not the chosen one, your rights WILL be violated. They don't care what the custody order says. According to their mission statement, they are " a Christian academy filled with leaders, faculty, and staff who are 'Called by Christ' to love and teach children and who are 'Committed to Proclaiming Christ through Education.' " Christians don't treat other Christians or ANYBODY the way I as a parent have been treated by this school. You can't trust any of them. If I was a faculty member, I'd be embarrassed to be associated with such a "Christian" environment. I wouldn't send my dog to this school.

I have experienced some VERY effective teachers and some not so effective. The teachers are more non-bias then the admin staff. The admin staff need to all find new jobs and that school needs to start over from the top-down.

An absolute blessing. Parents, you have choices so don't waste them. Berean provides a great education, dependable teachers and disciplined staff. Here teachers and the staff remain focused on a Biblical and healthy education for children. Unlike some schools, the teachers are caring, discipline lovingly and fairly, and are clearly in charge of the classroom and do not allow unruly children to ruin your child's ability to learn and function in the classroom. It has been a great experience for our kids to attend here and we are going to miss it. This school is a great choice, you will not regret it.

Berean Baptist Academy is an excellent school with high standards of education, a sincere focus on teaching a Christian worldview, and a balanced approach to discipline while also displaying Gods grace and mercy. The teachers are well educated, caring, and compassionate. A true desire to educate, nurture, instill critical thinking skills, and make Gods word come alive. They have weekly chapel for grades 1st-12th with a wide variety of preachers and speakers. The education is college prep and grades 1st-12th take yearly standardized testing by SAT. My children are graduates of BBA who went on to university and are now serving God and enjoying successful careers!
