We came in my son 7th Grade year, and he will be attending Sugar Creek High School next year! As we are all excited for his growth and confidence in his academic success. The teachers we have had truly cares about the student, they go above and beyond to make sure your child feels seen and comfortable in the classroom. They offer opportunities for parents to be involved in programs at school. Its a family atmoshpere with academic structure. Shout out to Mr. Javis, he a hidden jewel at this school. He makes the classroom feel open for real world topics and events. My son was so shy when whe first came, but Mr. Javis made it his misson to see him open up and become a great scholar. It was that Black male teacher ratio that really made diffrence in the student lives. The teacher are very eager at diffrent ways to teach topics, knowing that children learn on diffrent levels and diffrents ways. Communication between the front office and parents could be better, some seem a little unbothered when asked questions. Overall, great time and looking forward to the next level of success. Go Wildcats!!

We love SCCS! Our 1st grader's teachers are engaged, kind, and hold the students to a high standard, and we experienced the same last year in kindergarten as well. We also really like the school's emphasis on character and community-building.
Our only complaint might be that the bus commute time in the morning (over an hour) is unrealistic for a 6-yr old, but I think that has more to do with the bus driver shortage in Charlotte leading to combined bus routes... and since this is a charter school and we don't live nearby, we're fine to drive in the morning and appreciate that the afternoon ride home is much shorter. Otherwise, we're extremely happy with our child's educational experience and would recommend the school to anyone.

SCCS do not offer enough parent input. There is no PTA. When parents like myself voice concerns or changes they do nothing about it. However, they always want you to fundraise for SCCS. How can you ask families to raise money for SCCS but no parent opinions are considered? How? They are very strict on UNIFORM policy. You have to buy the school monogramed shirt that cost $18 but the quality is horrible. Kids can only wear Khaki bottoms. I asked personally to give parents another option for bottoms such as Navy or Black. I was told it cost more money for parents to buy a different color. How? School is about learning 100%!!! However, I feel you still can include fun, especially for elementary school kids. No dances, No spirit week, No Friday dress down day NOTHING. It is important for kids to develop their personality at the elementary stage. I agree with uniform policies but not the way SCCS enforces it. The few times you can dress down you have to pay or be reprimanded if you don't pay. If there is so much focus on education than SCCS test scores and overall ranking should be WAY HIGHER, than what they have. The teachers should be the most helping, recharged teachers ever. They have the longest breaks so much they could definitely have another full time job. I am a very hands on parent where learning don't stop at school. So I feel my daughter will succeed at any school. Why keep her at SCCS to help their test scores because she is one of the top performers in every class.

They get to 3rd gtadetop checking folders for homework. They expect 8 year olds to remember certain things and they are still kids..Teachre must be held accountable more than blaming a child for missed assignments.

No cause you get in trouble for defending yourself . And even when you go to a teacher with an issue they STILL find a way to make it about the other child who is not at fault.

Overall very dissatisfied. I hate this school and hate is a strong word. We will not be attending next year

Sugarcreek Charter is a great school. I have great respect for the teachers and staff. They have enriched my son's life tramendously. I have no complaints to gibe about this school. Thanks graciously, Patricia Stewart

I love this school was in the seventh grade taking Math 1 and this year I'm taking math 2 and English 1.The school is the best because of its learning programs and they have after school for others who need help they have lots of teachers who care,tech us life lessons and way more.Then there are the male and female mentoring programs they help a lot.

I think we need to get back to the basics and worry about analytical thinking in 5th or 6th grade. Stop giving our kids the shortend of the stick. We are in this together. They are our future and the soooner we acknowledge and encourage them and maintain a positive role model in their lives this nation will move forward in a positive way. I do not think that anyone would like to live under the thumb of the government although it aeems that this is the direction we are headed. Working to make ends meet and beibg a dedicated employee as placed our family on the backend. This shiuld not be the case. We need to figure how to alot time to sit with our families at the dinner table and have productive fellowship. As well as being able to take time to help our kids with homework. We should not have the thought of "in a perfect world this may be achievable attitude".This is why so many are turning to home schooling. We need to put money into education and salary cap the appropriate officials. Our children need to move forward not backwards.

I am an eighth grader at Sugar Creek Charter School and I believe that Sugar Creek provides an excellent learning environment for us kids.Our school is a great learning environment because it teaches us not only things that can get you in college,but also things that can get you places in life.At Sugar Creek we have a class based on character. Our character classes teaches you about real life things such as poverty and how even to act in a professional way when getting a job to prepare us for the future as well as the present.Our school builds character while building our minds to shape tomorrow's generation.I like that we are able to get some of our high school credits while in middle school,most colleges look for those kind of rates. Sugar creek charter school is a excellent learning academy that teaches students a variety of subjects while building their characters and preparing them for the future.In conclusion,I recommend Sugar creek charter school to you as an excellent learning experience for your kids for grades Kindergarten to 8th

I am an eighth grader currently attending Sugar Creek Charter School. I have been attending Sugar Creek since 2010. I like this school because it provides many options like 2 high school courses, Geometry and Algebra 1. I am currently taking Geometry. The teachers at Sugar Creek are nice and understanding. If you have a problem like bullying they will get to the bottom of it. This school makes you feel safe and secure 8 hours every day. Another thing I like about Sugar Creek is that they have half days. No school in CMS has half days. Lots of charter schools don't have transportation but Sugar Creek does. We are different than other schools. No other school will give you a iPod touch for making double 4's or and iPad for quadrupedal 4's. CMS school won't take you on field trips when you don't get all A's or no infraction or referrals. You should MOST DEFINITELY send your child to Sugar Creek. Thanks

I am an eigth grader currently attending SCCS and i have been attending Sugar Creek Since '10 . Overall this school is OK. Some of the teachers are very caring and understanding. I am a straight A student and currently taking high school geometry. Last year i took high school algebra 1. My old geometry teacher, Mr. Supia was always pushing us to study and do work , but then he left. Now our teacher Mrs.Biggerstaff just doesnt care what we do. Half of the class is talking and the other is on there phone. Only (Maybe) 2% of the class is actually paying attention. Its very hard to learn when others aroungd me are being disruptive. Also the principle is NEVER at school . This school does very much so LACK LEADERSHIP. But other than that the school is a 3/5 star school and i Would Recommend It :)

I am a parent of SCCS for 4 year I have two kids there. I really enjoyed 4 years. My daugther was very shy person, after working with Ms Fischer her 1st year of 1st grade. She blossomed and was not afraid to wear her glasses. Also my son gets all 4's every year on the EOG Test. Therefore I am very please and honor to have my childrean in a learning , safe , and healthy environment. I do recommend other families. Thank you, Wanchia Family
