Don't see much of it happening, have had kids and grandkids in this school for years, doesn't seem to change much, no improvements.

Don't see it, but like anywhere there are teachers trying to do the right thing in a bad situation.

Leadership in this school fluctuates to meet "their" needs and ensure when it's past to the school super they are all one big family.

Had grandkids from move from New Hanover to this school and it appears to dumb them down.

Had a child with ADHD, the school continuously punished the student and did not offer any assistance. Move child to private school and look at the difference. This school only cares about the staff.

Bias! It really has to do with " is Billy kin to Bobby who works at the local gas store " you know the deal in small communities.

my experience at this school was a Red Cross staff shelter worker September 2018, while school was postponed due to Hurricane Florence

Let me start by saying this school has a very unprofessional setting. The receptionist is rude and has her picks of parents who she can be pleasant towards but the rest will just suffer her attitude. The biggest problem is the principal. My son is diagnosed with ADHD and I don't think the principal wants to deal with that. I felt pressured into putting my son on medications even though I was trying to go through with alternatives such as therapy and IEPs. My son was bullied on his first weeks of school there and would come home crying. When I'd make a complaint, they claimed that my son was lying and even asked me "Do you believe everything your son tells you?" And today my son came home suspended and told me the principal said that next time he will tell the student who kicked MY SON to kick him again. I think they thrive on the fact that I am a single parent with no man in the household and use that to their advantage...i am desperate to get my son out of this school. I am so tired of it! The only good thing I can say is his teacher he got this year did really great working with him.
