After a recent meeting at the school, I was very impressed with the teacher's reports regarding my student. The teacher's comments about my student were written in a positive way and focused on strengths and areas where he needs more support. My student was present at the meeting and he was treated with the utmost respect. They were complimentary and this was encouraging. My impression is that each teacher/staff member at the table was interested in hearing his voice and in his well-being. I felt completely welcomed and respected. Without mentioning names, there were a few comments indicating that some students in attendance in his classses are disruptive and/or disrespectful. It was also noted how much good behavior exhibited by my student was appreciated and I like that positive reinforcement. My student has reported to me that students are vaping at school, sometimes in the classroom! This does concern me greatly, and another student has also told me that this is a fairly common occurrence. I am not understanding how this happens on the regular, but I am not a teacher there, so I have no idea what they deal with. I only say that I have had someone vape in my office and I immediately became aware of it due to the smell. The only other negative comment I could make would be that I am not understanding why there are test days where some students are not being tested and they have to sit in the cafeteria all day. This seems very difficult and unhealthy and I wish that there could be some planned activities provided for the students or to allow the students not testing to have excused absences. Overall, I am satisfied with my experience with the school and my student is doing better and better, and for me that is the most important thing. NOTE: My student does not get very excited about his classes/learning, but did show a little this year.

Eugene Ashely High is the worst school you could attend. The teachers and staff do not care about your Childs education. And it is a zoo in the school. When i was going there my mom was getting harassed by the receptionists, As we were leaving the school there was a women that worked there screaming things at us ( Lets just say they were not appropriate for a worker to ever say things like that to a student and a parent). The situation was so bad i never attended school and we ended up having to move. When we were in the prosses of moving we asked the school multiple times if we needed to do anything before leaving and they never said anything. When i got to me new school that school said that they couldn't get my transcripts from the school and that no one was returning their calls. Please look into other schools if your moving to the Wilmington area!

My son started here after moving and it’s been an uphill battle with the faculty from the teachers to the principal. On several occasions I have emailed the teachers and principals concerning projects and just general clarification on assignments, my emails were NEVER returned even after a phone call to the principal. My son has also emailed his teachers for work he was missing on days he was out sick and such. Again, no response. The principals take on this was that they may have not had the time to respond which I would understand if it had been only a few days but we are talking weeks without a response.

Faculty is genuinely interested in student success. There are great extracurricular activities and a great community of involved parents. I was a little fearful of my kids attending such a big school, but it fits NOT feel so big. Staff takes time to get to know the students. Also, the building is great and the campus offers as much as some small colleges.

I am a former student at this school. The administration changed at least three times in two years, the school spent their funds on flat screen televisions that nobody payed attention to, and there was a controversial incident my last year where the school security ended up arresting an innocent kid (the case was later dropped, and the student was cleared of all charges). The administration has absolutely no idea what they're doing. If you can help it, DO NOT send your child here. The only saving graces are the arts programs. The chorus, band, orchestra, and drama departments are top-natch for a public school. Other than that, it's worth avoiding.

best high school ever. B.O.B, Drake, Miley Cyrus, Justin Bieber, Britney Spears, and Jay Z came and sung at our chorus concert. RESPECT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My children attend Ashley high and I was nervous at first because the school is huge. The teachers and staff are so very caring and very responsive to emails from parents. We are probably too much hands on with our kids, as they are almost college age, but the teachers respond within 24 hours. They are very clear about expectations. We had an issue once and the Guidance Counselor immediately set up a meeting to support our son. The Arts department is wonderful, with our kids mostly involved in Chorus with Ms. Sugerik. The kids love her and she is phenomenal. The teachers are just fabulous in general and I am very glad to be an Ashley High School parent.
