Hands down best elementary school in New Hanover County! Our family and so many others absolutely adore this school. It provides an outstanding education with the best-of-the-best educators, but more than that, it is a warm, welcoming school that truly cares about each individual student. My children are excited to go to school every day and feel 100% comfortable and confident there. Parsley builds on their students' strengths and encourages them. It's no wonder it is one of the top-rated schools in the county. We wouldn't go anywhere else and will be so sad to leave this place when the kids graduate!!

There are some good teachers at Parsley Elementary school, but maybe one per grade. You will be lucky if you child goes to that class. Otherwise, you are stuck with poorly trained teachers, whose only concern is preparing for the test, guess how?... through more testing! The instruction starts and finishes with the order: "Here is a worksheet, do it!" No wonder, these teachers fail. They then turn their madness on the students! Teacher attrition (those who leaving school) is high because they do not fit this culture of constant testing and non-existent instruction. You do not want your children to be caught in this vicious circle! Families continue relocate into this school boundaries: parents are lured by the test scores of the past when the classes were small and the teachers used to do instruction. But this is all in the past. Check the recent test scores to see how the cohorts of students are so behind in their test performance. The group that used to perform above the test average has shrunken to a negligible percent, and the below average and failing groups are on the rise. Check the current scores, talk to parents and then decide whether you want to move in here...

Parsley is a close-knit community with many parents walking their children to school. I love that students greet other students every morning!

It is a great school where teachers, administration and parents all work together to do their best for the students.

Moved her 2 years ago from the Northeast. My kids were in private schools up there. I can honestly say that the education they have received at Parsley is superior. The school is a safe, welcoming place. The teachers, parents and students are wonderful. My kids love Parsley!
