I would like to start off with the things I liked about Millennium Charter Academy (MCA). During my semester at this school there was not a single time where I questioned my safety. I also liked how the school offered dual enrollment, allowing me to take some free community college classes while still in high school. The small school allowed me to get to know everyone fast, coming in as a new student that helped tremendously.
Millennium Charter Academy was a terrible school. I attended this charter school for a single semester and they completely messed up my graduation pathway. They somehow messed up my records so badly that I almost had to retake my senior year. The only way this school can be somewhat beneficial to your child is if they go from k-12, this is NOT a transfer friendly school. The high school had four teachers who actually had any form of common sense, the rest were incapable of teaching and completely incompetent. The headmaster was awful and all the teachers disliked him, because he would make new policies that would hinder any of the teachers from actually teaching. This school prides itself about how it is a classical education school, but the issue with that is they teach like any other high school, with the one exception of making students hand write essays in cursive. Every graduate from this school will graduate with a MCA diploma, which means absolutely nothing to colleges, and is simply just a waste of time. Classes to receive your MCA diploma are required and cannot be replaced by community college classes. I highly advise NOT attending Millennium Charter Academy.

I give this a one star because I can not give a rating any lower, however I wanted to express how much I disliked this place so here I am writing this review. My main problem with this school is how they do not try to make any efforts to try and improve the sports at this school. The headmaster although nice to most students, only cared for the academics at this school and seemed to make no efforts to change anything for the better in the sports programs. Sports are what build schools and for most kids are what make them want to come to school. To add on, the work and work load is way to hard. Most of the work I got as a former student was way harder than other schools and I know this by comparing with friends who went to traditional public schools. The work load is even worse. To add on to the already hard work, the teachers do not lay off on the work load either. One teacher in particular would assign multiple assignments to us while we were already working on essays, projects, or we had big test coming up to study for. To continue, most of the teachers at this school were either to hard, or just didn't care about their job or teaching their class. Another complaint, is that when there are sporting events, there are no directors/principals their which really shows that the directors at this school do not care one bit for the sporting programs. Lastly, the headmaster, or now former headmaster, seemed to have absolutely no clue what was going at this school and all the problems that were within it. I would not recommend this school to anyone, and to be honest I wouldn't want my worst enemy to go to this school.

I would not recommend anyone to put their kids here at this school. Instead of teaching on the level like your district school they want to act like this is a Harvard University but teachers do not know how to help teach on this level. Very poor teachers at Millennium as far as their attitudes and helpfulness when students need help. The teachers run this school instead of the Headmaster who just follows their way not his own. The sports in this school is a big joke! They want your child to respect the teachers and faculty but in return treat the students so disrespectful. As the saying goes respect is earned not giving. Maybe they need to add this to their Honor code, just saying.

My time there was got awful, students were relentless and when you try to fix something whos ever parents donated more money to the school were the ones that were right

Students were disciplined for certain things such as ripped jeans different colored hair or shirts with graphic designs on them. I dont think anything that I just stated should be used to hinder anyones ability to learn.

I went to special education classes and the teachers were amazing but they were lacking the real help that I needed to make a difference in the groups education they did a wonderful job helping where they could

Overall the only reason why I will give it one star is because the teachers that really did try and love their job. I would not put my own child in the school or recommend it to anybody I know, I dropped out because I was not getting the help I needed and I went elsewhere to find it. The school work was difficult but it was manageable the only problem was some teachers did not want to help anyone learn something in their own way. A lot of the teachers that I respected and grew to like are now in different schools I think that should tell you something. Thank your for helping look after your childs Education, my parents wanted to give me the best and they thought this place was please dont make the same mistakes They did!

Millennium Charter Academy seems like the perfect school to go to, and in some cases it is exactly that. I am a former student of Millennium Charter Academy, as a personal opinion Millennium Charter Academy is better to start a school career rather than continue it. This was the reason why I wasn't successful at this school. Millennium is a very beautiful school but it hasn't fixed damages that could be dangerous like large cracks in the hallways that could cause someone to fall. The food is good but in extremely small portions, the children in high school and middle school are given the same portions of food as kindergartners and it leaves the students very hungry still after they have eaten unless they bring their own lunch from home. As a former student I have realized as by just looking around in the hallways that there is almost no diversity at this school, it is mainly white people even the teachers. The sports at this school are almost mediocre compared to the sports at other schools there is plenty of potential but not enough effort put into sports. for my children Millennium will not be the first choice of schools for them to go to.

First trimester there and the difference between this and our old "county" school is unbelievable! The experiences the students are provided, the character they are developing and the opportunity to get involved in academic activities is absolutely phenomenal! I can't believe how much my kids have grown in just a few months at MCA. I finally feel like I am being supported in creating confident, hard working, diligent, creative, responsible engineers of society.

My child has attended Millennium Charter Academy for the past 9 years. The academics are on point in preparing children for college, with advanced classes offered in many subjects for students who wish to take advantage of them. They have many programs that also encourage compassion, responsibility, good moral character, and giving back to the community. I find these qualities important in our society and I am thankful that my child has the privilege of attending Millennium. The teachers are wonderful and really care about the students they teach. 5 stars and keep up the great work Millennium!

MCA does a great job of bringing together parents, students, teachers, and the community which creates well educated kids with great character. The facilities and staff are growing and improving each year. Currently, the MCA High School is expanding. I am a parent with 2 kids at MCA and they have attended for 4 to 9 years, so far.

The amount of homework given is just right for our children. The amount of time it takes depends on the child. If consistent focus is applied the amount of time per day is 30 minutes to one hour on average. The higher the grade the more homework you will have.

They are good with regular kids but not with special education kids. I feel they should pay attention to kids with special needs too.

The school is good except if your kid is special education. The teachers there do not have the qualifications or training to teach special education kids.

Because they do not have the teachers to deal with special education students. The special education people they have do not know what to do unless a kid is regular IQ but cannot help those kids who are lower. And they should do that for all kids.

MCA is now adding a high school starting this year. We are excited to keep our children at MCA for their high school years too. The focus of assets continue to help MCA grow. This is the result of parent engagement along with student body and faculty engagement . This team effort leads to excellent results.

We absolutely feel so blessed to have found such a great school to send our child to. The curriculum is fun and challenging, the teachers can't be beat, and the importance placed on character development just puts Millennium over the top. My child actually says she loves her school and that means the world to us as parents. We are looking forward to the new high school opening so our daughter can continue this great education she is receiving throughout the higher grades!
