My child is thriving here. She loves school again and has made many friends. This school has kept her from falling through the cracks that the pandemic made. The staff is amazing and I am so thankful for "every" last one of them!

This school is severely lacking in real teachers. The principal, is she even qualified? I dare not comment on that. I will say that they are teaching kids backwards and not preparing them for college. When questioned, all concerns are pushed aside and asked to trust them to do their job. Well, do your job or get someone who is qualified to do it. Its a shame. These poor kids have no clue. The parents think this is a great place, but I guess if you have a child that does not fit in to society then this is the place for it. This is not what it appears to be, be very careful sending your children here.

My grandson is much happier here than he had been at public schools. Plus he is learning so much more. All students are respectful of the staff and of each other, regardless of age.

Teachers are knowledgeable. They truly care about the success of each student, providing individual attention as needed.

Christian-based standards are emphasized. Bible courses are included in the curriculum.

New leadership beginning in the fall of 2020. New leadership is truly dedicated to the growth of each student. I'm expecting great things for the 2020-2021 school year.

Bullying is never tolerated. When bullying is observed, it is dealt with promptly and appropriately.

Jarvisburg Christian Academy is just what our community needs-a great school with amazing teachers devoted to Christ and our children's education. From the constant contact with my wife and I to the special attention directed to our children's individual needs JCA has shown their commitment and is blessing to us. As Christian parents, we are extremely appreciative for all they do.
This is a fantastic school that any child can comfortably fit into. I have been lucky enough to attend more than a few field trips with JCA over the years and I have been able to see how much the kids love and enjoy this school and how much JCA loves and cares for them.

My middle school son likes it here. I don't have to fight with him about going. The uniform is khaki pants and a polo shirt so I don't have to argue with him about clothing wise. yes it is a small school isnt that what we want it gives the children more one-on-one attention to work on their school work. as a parent we enrolled him in County activities to socialize and stay fit. I like the fact that there is a Bible course where my son can actually learn the word of Christ. We do attend the Sunday service everyone is very friendly. For financial aid there is a scholarship that you can apply for that really does help. I'm glad we are sending our son there. Fyi I never give all stars because I believe there is always room for improvement in everything.
I hope this helps make your choice to come to JCA school easier.

There are no "favorites" at JCA. Everyone is treated equally and with respect. Core values are instilled daily to the students.

JCA IS AN AWESOME school to send your child to for so many reasons. My son has been here 3 years and his behaviors have improved tremendously over those he had at the public schools. Night and day. He LOVE this place and always looks forward to going to school. #1) he had an IEP in public schools, although not legally required to adhere to any of his goals written in the IEP, JCA has been extremely understanding to make any necessary changes he needs, whether it's academically or modifications for his behavior issues. #2)I love the curriculum and the support for its content. If a student needs it to be adjusted for honors classes or for alternative lessons, the program will allow it. #3) small classes - the upper classroom room has about 10 kids in it. #4) the lower grades use an excellent ABEKA program with various books and workbooks. #5) the upper classes use an online program that is very versatile. #6) I love that there are about 70 or so options for electives; like accounting, astronomy, consumer math, Audio Visual, digital arts, foreign languages, engineering, financial strategies, etc....love the options. #7) All classes from pre-K to 12th have bible references and apply a bible connection to each and every class. This is done without being over done too. #8) there is no Bullying permitted. If something happens it is dealt with immediately and action is taken. #9) field trips every month. #10) title 1 reading services available thru 5th grade for those who need it with supports from the Currituck County Schools. #11) opportunity scholarship available to those who qualify - which pays for the entire costs of attending. Overall, if your child is not being successful in the public school, this place is for you. The staff at JCA is very compassionate and understanding

Teachers are great. My son struggled with chemistry, the teacher took extra time to help him. In small classes, like this at JCA, this can be done, no problem.

I think less than public school. There is NO homework for the upperclasses. They just have weekly goals they need to meet. If a student falls behind or even if they want to get ahead on their lessons, they can do some at home, but never any assigned homework.

Do not send your children to Jarvisburg Christian. Take into consideration that at the end of last year, both the middle school and high school teachers left taking with them almost all of the middle school grade children. Jarvisburg Christian Academy has little intolerance for those who are different. THIS WILL NOT PREPARE YOUR CHILD FOR COLLEGE. If you are looking for a school where they will be surrounded by Christ-loving students, let me give you this warning: During their 2013-2014 school year, the high school/middle school class consisted of 4 students who were devoted to God. This school has pushed Christianity down these students throats so hard that they don t want to follow Christ anymore.
