My kids attend this school and have enjoyed their time here. They are active and involved in sports and other activities such as Band and Theater which helps them build a sense of community and pride. They often feel supported by staff and have a good group of peers. While there are some disciplinary issues that have occurred at the school, I think you will get that at all public high schools at this point.

So many kids were unhappy and didn’t want to go to school at all. The bullying by students and staff members was a daily ritual. Nothing inspiring about this school except it’s a great candidate for a show like Bar Rescue except call it School Rescue. Our kids deserve better than what this school is trying to pass off as a good education and learning experience!

My son loved going to to East. We were worried since it's rated low but he has had a great experience here. The teachers have always communicated with me when I've emailed them.

I have two students attending East and they LOVE it! The staff is caring and willing to spend extra time before or after school when they need help. They don't get overloaded with homework, but have some outside work and have to study for their tests. One of my students, was very involved in sports and extra curricular activities, the other student is not involved as much, but says his friends and teachers are great. There is a lot of diversity and my kids say that makes the experience that much better. I would highly recommend East, especially for students that want to be involved.

Outstanding staff who go above and beyond for my students. They have a great track record for high achievement and my children all had wonderful experiences and were able to participate in a wide variety of clubs, academic competitions and sports.

Worst school my kids have attended. Children with criminal records threatening and harassing my child without any discipline is absurd.

They cannot provide an effective safety plan for my student for being bullied, harassed and almost jumped.

Honestly, this school has been an amazing experience. The few times I hear negative things about the school, such as the staff is racist or that they don't care about you unless you're in a sport, it's never true. As a student going to this school, my teachers are working so hard to aid in my success. If you think they're being racist, maybe consider if it's the content of your character as opposed to the color of your skin. Besides that, I'm not involved in any sports, and contrary to what others may think, I haven't been discriminated against! This school has a plethora of teachers who would kill for the success of their students and are always helping as long as you treat them with decency and respect. Bellevue East has come a long way, and there's still more things to be done. No matter how you look at East, it was and always has been a pleasure to be a Chieftain.

When the seldom circumstance of a fight arises, teachers and on-campus officers quickly put an end to it. Students generally have respect and don't get too rowdy or hostile towards those they may not like particularly well. We have a strict no-bullying policy and in school suspension or out of school suspension will be administered to those who are caught hurting another person verbally or physically.

I have multiple mental illnesses such as chronic to severe depression as well as OCD, and my teachers are always understanding and patient when some days are worse than others, and they build me up and encourage me when I need it. They help the high percentage of students with learning and mental disablilities very patiently and passionately and show utmost concern and care for them.

Though sometimes a few teachers exert their "power" a bit too strongly, leadership at this school is the type where there is mutual respect. Student council and the deans and other leadership branches treat the students with respect and vice versa.

With the incentives and many opportunities to grow as a person, it's hard to stay complacent in your growth as a student or apathetic to others.

Madame Boyd, in particular, is easily the best teacher I have ever had. She's the one who inspired me to be a medical translator, and I'm very grateful for how she talks to me as a person as opposed to a sheep merely passing through the classroom. To be honest, that's how all my teachers have been towards me. Almost all of them have a passion and concern for their students and their wellbeing, and seem to genuinely want to be there. Well done!

Teachers understand that homework isn't always the most effective and assign alternatives and plenty of options and ways to get your work done. They challenge me while not overloading me.

I am a Senior Master Sergeant in the U.S. Air Force and my daughter attended this school 2016-2017. Academically, our daughter excelled and tested top in the state of NE during her attendance. Her student life at BEAST was very fun as the school does a great job of promoting student pride and provides many activities for the students. In addition, she ran cross country and really loved her teammates and coaches. If you are considering BEAST for your child, have no fear...this school is fantastic!!

I have been at Bellevue east for four years now and me being an African American female I have experience a lot of racism within the school from students and staff this is not a place I would send anyone's child especially if there "different" from the people there meaning students and staff can't handle people that are different from the perfect blonde hair and blue eyes Even the deans couldnt care less about the "different" students I felt offended almost everyday walking out of that school when i did try to address it with someone they would dismiss me or laugh it off and say it was a joke and god forbid I would say the word racism that would go straight to the deans who again didn't care so overall if you and or your child is "different" I wouldnt recommend sending your child here

This school has bullying problems, there are teachers who care but there are others who don't help, even the deans at the school they honestly don't investigate the situation correctly. When a student has a personal problem against another student they go to the deans, but how could they feel protected if those are "trusted adults," asking the student's peers who aren't and should not get involved about that situation? This school also has a lot of clique's... but no school is perfect, it could be a better place if they tried and turned it around.

Bellevue East was a wonderful surprise! My daughter wanted to attend Bellevue West because that's where all of her friends were assigned. Alexis was placed on the waiting list and was disappointed when she did not get to attend B. West. However, within just a few short weeks she had met a new group of friends, joined Marching Band and the Theater Program and adjusted to the teachers. She is very content at Bell East and when told she had been granted a spot a Bell West, she turned down the opportunity. I think both Bellevue East and West High are wonderful schools and my daughter is happy with her choice to stay at East!
