If your child needs extra help to overcome a learning difficulty, we are not in favor of their remedial classes. We are negative for elementary school and neutral here because we didn’t use any of their special help classes.

It’s sad to say but we are disappointed with this Middle School. Instead of seeing a real advance in our daughter’s knowledge, writing, and math, we soon realized that the teachers and academic rigor was not what we had expected of. To offset the weaknesses, we worked in extra math classes outside of school and spent hours on writing and in additional texts to bridge the obvious gap. The worst reality is that this school did not build on our child’s love of learning. When she had a vibrant and engaging teacher she can and does thrive in her leaning. Don’t be misled - this school has a long way to go to achieving excellence in education.

I saw how often our daughter came home and when doing homework said that they had not covered any of it in class. She is an A student so it wasn’t her trying to cover up for not paying attention in class.

When a teacher doesn’t even reach out if a student’s grades are suddenly lower, then I don’t think it’s right that the parents are expected to check every day online for the latest grades which are often posted weeks later. Some teachers were better than others but we were not impressed for a school system that is supposedly blue ribbon. What happened to teachers working with parents to help a child in their educational challenges.

Overall, I think most of this comes from the student community and some good emphasis by the school on values like no bullying, excellence, etc.

Very disappointed that the Principal did not guide the teachers to build a regular schedule during COVID where teachers were required to be online and “live” with the kids. We certainly lost 3 months of teaching as most if not all teachers simply posted independent study and said to email them if the child had any questions. One or two teachers did make this effort to engage with their students more regularly via Zoom or Google meets but I know many mornings where the kids said they were done after just 1 or 2 hours of logging on. Pathetic!
