Send your child to private school for 2 years. The school administration does absolutely nothing in practice to address bullying and sexual harassment between students. The majority of students have underage social media accounts where they target other kids and make fun of them on a daily basis. Kids vape in the bathroom (5th grade). You will be made fun of over anything and everything from not having the latest iPhone to if your parents are divorced. This school is horrible and toxic. The teachers are immature (i.e. go on their phones nonstop) and are verbally abusive toward students. The 5th grade principal is impossible to speak with b/c she talks over you, interrupts when you can get a word in, downplays problems and won’t have an actual conversation about issues. They get around all the bullying and abuse by saying ‘well WE haven’t observed anything’. That is their M.O. This school flourished 15-20 years ago.

Just visited my daughters school for American Education Week and I have to say it was really amazing to watch my daughters education in action. The teachers were well prepared with interesting lesson plans and the kids were prepared as well with great questions and respect in the classroom. We also met with administrators who answered all of our questions it was a great experience and I am proud that my daughter is getting a fantastic education at this public school!

I cannot say enough about Mrs.Pirella who is a Guidance councler at Hartford school~My son deales with seperation anxiety. It is heart wrenching to watch you're child deal with this ~ I (his mother)have stage 4chronic Lyme disease, so I carry so much guilt knowing he worries so much about me~ Not only was Mrs. Pirella outstanding with my son she was outstanding with me~ I was a mess~ if my son was having an extremely bad morning, I could call her and she would be waiting for my son as he entered the front doors~I always felt safe knowing she was there~she was my sons advocate and my advocate ~Hartford School District is so blessed to have her ~She truly has a special gift~Xo
