i graduated from here this year. i really do like the school compared to other schools I have previously attended. while it does have downsides, like issues with hiring bad teachers (not their fault, they dont KNOW) and diversity and equity issues in regards to lgbt and racism. i do see where the school is improving and the administration has been moving in a better direction as the years go on. most of the teachers are amazing people who are highly educated and supportive. all clubs are very developed, however some get less money than others. overall, it is a very good choice compared to other surrounding schools (ie pemberton, new egypt, etc). i am sure they will continue to improve as the years go on. especially cause now they are making a new auditorium with chairs. finally

All three of my children graduated from here and has since graduated from Rutgers. Northern did a great job for being such a large school. Their adoption if technology is on point and ahead of other districts. Keep up the great work.

Moving to this school district was the worst decision we ever made! I was under the impression it was a great district, but it didnt take very long to see how awful it really was. I had two children there, one graduated before we moved, but no thanks at all to Northern. It was an alternative school that saved her. The other fell behind during Covid at home schooling. And thats where they were happy to leave him. They prioritize their salaries over helping struggling students succeed. They offer absolutely nothing by way of character. There are too many racist/bigoted incidences to list. There was even a viable shooting threat made on the bus. Nothing is done about it, ever.
Since we moved, my son has caught up on the year he stayed back being there and is now graduating a year early. He actually likes school now. The best decision we ever made was getting out of this district.

I have seen a lot of positive changes in the school from when my nephews attended to now that my child is attending. The school curriculum seems to be on par with the private schools and even exceeds some of the academic offerings such as the honors and Advanced Placement classes as well as their STEM program. There is major investment being made into the school infrastructure which was much needed and hopefully the modernized, added space will help progress the school further.

As a teacher who works here I'd like to give it 5 stars, but there's always room for improvement. Diversity, acceptance, & inclusion are priorities in this school. Bullying & bias issues, when reported, are handled swiftly. Clubs range from environmental clubs, to ROTC. Faith Based Athletic groups to a GSA Group. Sports, Clubs, Video, Drama, Music, Tech... it's all here IF YOU CHOOSE TO PARTICIPATE.

Staff are fairly happy, administration is fairly responsive, & guidance is fairly proactive. You can see by the numbers, this is not a bland district, but wonderfully diverse.

School is what you make of it. How parents support their children, support their education, communicate with teachers, believe the feedback of certified instructors, & follow through with recommendations, has a lot to do with the success of that child. Teachers can only do so much for the few hours they have your children. Opportunities abound here, but parents & students need to reach out & pick the fruit.

Many advanced course offerings for the motivated student. Like most things in life, you get what you give. If your student is high-achieving and motivated, there are many course offerings that will challenge him/her. Lots of clubs and sports. The facilities are awful and the only reason this school will never earn a 5 star rating. If the facilities are improved, the sky's the limit for Northern.

At any school the classes your child takes has the most impact on how they will do. If your child is a Honors or AP student the staff pushes they students to do well and succeed. Most of these students strive to do well so the classes are respectful and teachers have no displine issues.

The Northern community and faculty work together to provide clubs and experiences for the students in a wide range of activities and services. They work closely to include the our milatary families as well.

I have two students in Northern and both excell academically and are encouraged by there teachers to take more challenging courses every year. They have many friends wether through sports or clubs. As with any school there are problems many of which I believe stem from the home and lifestyle. If you are an engaged parent in your child's education and have a child who likes to be challenged there are many opportunities for them. From 20+ AP courses to CAP classes associated with Rowan college of Burlington County. To a new ROTC program. This school has a lot to offer a student who is motivated to succeed.

If you are not a pot head or a member of the FFA you will not fit in at this school.
Teachers have no control over students and there is constant fighting and the administration is a joke!

I had a son graduate here in 2013 and another graduating this year. The changes within the school this year have been drastic with a new administration...many more fights, constant phone usage in the classrooms and disrespect for staff. Some excellent staff here, but the phone distractions are making it difficult for even competent teachers to do their job. We will be moving our 2 high school students next year out of district. On a plus side, the Middle School is quite rigorous and does not allow free phone use--was highly impressed with the way the administration was constantly on site/accessible here and sought to know all students and staff!

My older son graduated in 2010. While the school has average SAT scores, for the motivated student there are excellent teachers who go the extra mile to help the student. My son took all the AP courses offered and got a 2200 on his SAT. That said, the district spends too much on sports and too little on academics. They should have more AP courses available to put our kids on par with other great schools.

Very pleased with everything about the administration & teachers. My daughter graduated from here and my son will be graduating in 6 years.
