This is our third year with Fort Dix and all I can say are amazing things about the school and the staff. It feels like a close community! My kids love going and we ended up staying another year just so they could attend the school. We had the choice between North Hanover and Fort Dix and we are soooo glad we choose Fort Dix. My kids have grown so much all thanks to the amazing teachers!

My daughter has been at Fort Dix for about 2 years now and we couldnt be any happier. The faculty is great, teachers are caring and nurturing, and the new principal, Mr. Holley, is amazing and very active in his presence in the school. We had the choice to go to either North Hanover or Fort Dix Elementary when we moved here and although North Hanover has a fancy new school building, Im so glad we picked Fort Dix Elementary. My daughter has had nothing but a pleasant experience and Ive seen her grow exponentially not only in academics, but also in self confidence and character. I would choose Fort Dix Elementary 1,000 times over again!

Ft Dix Elementary is amazing. My daughter learned so much there! All the teachers are encouraging and helpful, everyone knows everyone and my daughter always feels welcome and excited for school. Once we moved I realized how great FDE is because the new schools we are at now are horrible. I know there is much debate on whether to send your kid to FDE or North Hanover and I can say I would choose FDE 100 times over. My daughter still speaks of how much she loved every single person in this school. Such a great balance of learning, discipline, and building up children's character awareness.

My kids have had amazing teachers at FDE and have grown academically. The teachers truly care about the success of their students and are very responsive. We move often as a military family, and my kids have enjoyed their experience at FDE better than other higher rated schools they have attended.

A few teachers hand out worksheets the old fashioned way while others try and relate homework to life at home and make it relatable for families.

Regardless of personality difference I had with some teachers all of them love their jobs and care about their students.

Its a School if Character! Please look up what that is if you dont already know. Basically, the school has to fulfill criteria with how they teach the students and what values they impress upon them. They are raising kids to be well rounded members of society, not just good students.

Absolutely! The principal is always in the halls and popping in classrooms. She even knows every chikds name just a few month into school. She is highly approachable and listens when you have a REAL problem. Other comments may have been from those who refuse to take responsibility for how their child acts in school.

There is a zero tolerance policy. If anything happens under the radar, both the staff and principal where quick to listen to my concerns and take appropriate actions.

Excellent system. I had all three children attend this school with no issues. Teachers and staff are very caring.

My son learned more curse words and bad behavior while attending this school then any actual curriculum.

Does the principle even go into the school? It's nearly impossible to schedule time to sit with her or to address any issues. If you do get in its not met with an open mind.

Stay as far away from this school and it's district. Yes it's on base but it's not treated as a DOD school with the same standards. When my son attended he was given dairy which he was allergic to. No water for kids available on hot field trips. This school is a danger to students and needs revamped. Which is why after failing it receives funding and you don't pay for school supplies. It's not worth your child's safety.

My son went from loving school to hating It. Mind you he's in Preschool. I never knew why until I saw his teachers aid yell and yank one of the kids. When the issue was brought up the principle defended her actions staring it was just a bad day. All communication broke down with his actual teacher who then even refused to sign his end of the year book. Very unsafe and unprofessional.

This is awesome school with dedicated staff and support resources. My children transferred into this school and I was extremely nervous and skeptical. As I value early childhood education and understand the significance. The teachers as whole go above and beyond and I love the fact that the children were issued their own laptops for use in school in the 3rd grade. Other elementary school are not that fortunate. This school has an gym and encourage walking/biking to school because of its close vicinity on base. The principal, Dr.Garbutt is truly an educator and very approachable .

Coming from an amazing school in San Antonio this one is sub par. The principle in non existent. They don't encourage parent involvement or even give that many opportunities for parents to be involved. So glad we are PCS'ing out of here soon

We are a military family and did not know that you could select a different elementary school. Most people send their children to the schools on the McGuire AFB side because Ft. Dix Elementary is so bad. My daughter's 5th grade long-term substitute teacher gave her D's on report card even though we met with her in person previously and asked her how we could help. We were shocked. We contacted the principal who was of very little help. I do believe she could do a WHOLE LOT more. They have wonderful facilities and resources (parents don't need to buy school supplies). It is very safe. Some teachers are great but of all the schools we've been to so far, this is the worst. They don't leverage their email or website well which may explain poor parent-teacher communication. They definitely use their automatic voicemail announcements so consider which phone number you give them for those.

We have been with this school for four years now and the facilities and distance to Fort Dix Housing is great. The teachers are pretty awesome, if you as a parent puts time into your child and the school too. My children have done very well there and I believe being an active parent in my kids education is the key! Everything can not be left up to the teacher(s)-Especially teaching them to respect their elders and behave outside their home! This school has over 400 students and the PTO is lucky if 40 parents help or are involved in any sort of way! The principle is there (most of the time!), but she has thrown her hands up at reaching out and will not return your calls. Still she is very pleasant when approached:) Still I do enjoy me kids going to this school and all the updated equipment/faculty it has! Parents are every child's 1st and most important teacher(s)!!!!

Been with this school for some time, was referred by a friend and I've had it! This school is one of the worst schools I've ever had to experience and I'm sorry that my child has no other choice but to go to this school. Great facilities, HORRIBLE Faculty. The principal needs fired ASAP!
