I've lived in Riverside for almost 10 years now. When I came into the town it seemed run down, loud, and generally unsafe. When the pandemic hit these qualities were exacerbated (besides the noise) and we were debating on moving out of this area. I'm glad we stayed though, over time they have really worked hard on cleaning up around town and provide a nice area to raise our kiddos. This is also present in our schools. They have made massive expansions and improvements due to having a budget allowed to do so, providing students with a better environment and learning opportunities. The teachers I have worked with have all been wonderful with my kiddos and worked tirelessly to help them feel heard and helped when they have needed it. With it being a small town everyone is personal with each other and the classrooms are smaller which allows personalized learning. The path the town is on will bring great things to everyone in it, I'm happy I get to be here to experience that.

The whole town has gone down hill. I'm from Riverside. I graduated in 2000 and bought my own home in 2012. When I had child, we pulled her out of Riverside because we noticed they were not helping her with her learning disability. They actually said she didn't need an IEP anymore so in 1st grade we transferred to private. Because of her learning disability private school was unable to offer more. We moved in 2024 to get her into a better school which has helped significantly in 3 mos. Riverside school is overcrowded. The whole town is overcrowded. The teachers are wonderful but they have too many kids and not enough space. It's very sad what has happened to this town.

MY son went to school at Riverside for 12 years. 2017 he graduated Rutgers New Brunswick
with a Bachelors in Cellular Biology Neuroscience, BCBN. Most of his friends are in college. I believe a small school system has dynamic advantage over large school. His education was a success. He also always received support and encouragement from the staff and school.

Small town district, the teachers have the ability to learn about their students as "People" ....not another number like many other larger districts I have experienced. As with any school, communication is key! Whenever I have a concern, I simply reach out to the teacher and/or administrator and I have always received a prompt response. It is unfortunate that people are quick to judge in today's society and quick to vent negativity before positive news. Even when they are disappointed in one individual, it becomes their overall opinion of that population. This has escalated with the age of social media. RHS may be a smaller town with lower funding than some neighboring schools, but the town and the school district thrive on family involvement! The community gets involved with their schools! That folks....is unfortunately not the norm in today's schools! I would definitely recommend RHS, NJ!

i like this school it not the best but it gets the job done. everyone seem to get along there is the ups and downs but i believe we have more ups at are school. and there is no major drugs here so thats a plus

Coming from a student, I honestly wish I never went to this high school. No one is friendly or inviting. Everyone bullies people. It's extremely clique-y. The school is very unprofessional & the teaching is not good. Do not enroll your children here.

We transferred from another out of school. The school took it into their own hands to put my child into special classes and when confronted they were very discouraging to put my son into regular ed class...now is in regular ed classes doing well. / my other child was forced into a special school where education is not their number one priority. Educators are determental to me and her as far as her abilities/ now is home school where number school is number one priority WOULD NOT RECOMMEND RIVERSIDE SCHOOLS NOT RECOMMENDED FOR SPECIAL NEEDS KIDS AS THE SCHOOL FEELS THEY NEED TO BE SEGREGATED AND KEPT WITH LIKE MINDED CHILDREN DIRECT QUAT.

I should of thought twice before enrolling my children in Riverside Public Schools. Most of the teachers that I have came in contact with are more so worried about there self unstead of the child. The education there forget it. My experience is the school is very prejudice not just against race but against certain disabilities. Think twice before looking into Riverside Public Schools and subjecting your child to a school that cares less about children education.
