I am a current high school student (who is now enrolled in a different district) that attended VMS for ONE (1) year. During the very short amount of time that I spent as a student at VMS, my brother and I were routinely harassed, ridiculed, and threatened. As well as this, I experienced being called a variety of slurs, being physically assaulted, and being sexually harassed nearly EVERY DAY because of my sexual orientation and gender identity. The bullying and harassment has caused me to develop a handful of mental disorders as a result of the trauma I endured. I was hospitalized several times due to mental health complications. Even with my parents screaming and begging the principal to do something, no punishments were given. My parents eventually stopped fighting and enrolled me in a different school to protect my life. I am now working through complex trauma that could have been avoided if admin took my situation seriously. Avoid VMS at all costs.

This school is my first year here and one thing is there is a lot of bullying , but overall its a great school to go to but some of the teachers are little mean but there will be some annoying teachers at some point but one of my favorite teaches of this year is Mr maggs and he such a good teacher overall one of my favorite teachers and I cant wait for summer and had a great year

Both my children and I found Voorhees Middle School (VMS) administration to be a complete disaster. Bullying has been and seems to me still a serious issue for years, yet little to no progress has been made in resolving it. My child with autism graduated from VMS after enduring multiple traumatic incidents, including a fractured collarbone, a concussion, and being attacked with a metal chain by a group of students at the public park. Instead of supporting him, the administration punished him for standing up for himself. No Special Education or Family Support was offered to resolve the ongoing bullying issues at school.
Parents should also be aware that NJ schools are not required to release video surveillance evidence to parentseven in cases where a child suffers physical abuse. In our case, incidents were dismissed as bad luck, accidents, or worse, the administration placed the blame on my son himself. No resources were ever provided to help him develop social skills, despite his autism diagnosis.
Many of the teaching staff at VMS are very good, and some teachers are genuinely excellent. But when it comes to the administration, I would give zero stars.
If you wish to opt your child out of Early Sex Education and a controversial reproductive topic as part of the Health class at VMS, please get in touch with the school for the necessary form. I wish we had an option for a school voucher program to avoid such unsafe conditions for our children.

This year was the first year and its going to be the last year for my daughter shes in 6th grade VMS is # ONE bullying school from both teachers and students teachers teaching their students how to be rude and disrespectful to each other they listen to only one side of the problem my daughter was upset the whole year we send our kids to school to learn not to be upset or to have any problems to all parents if you care about your kids dont send them to VMS.

Im a student here im a new student I have diabetes and a unibrow I get bullied everyday for it they make fake rumors trying to get me in trouble the school does not care about bullying although they do my doctor said I have to go see a psychiatrist I went and they said I have depression cause of it

The teachers I have met with so far are all good. My son enjoys school; there are plenty of opportunities for extra-curricular activities and clubs!

Half the teachers are helpful, the other half are not. Preparation for high school is hard when you go to a school where the math is only done on iPads instead of paper.

My son is has dyslexia I moved here just for the schools every teacher from Osage to VMS have given their all to my son and has taught him many strategies to use for his future

Great school and teachers. It has plenty of great sports and just fun activities like wrestling or baseball. It's the best school in South Jersey.
