Overcrowded classrooms. Was only able to get much needed services for my child only after I reached out to the superintendent. Subs are a constant. Chromebooks are relied on to educate. Kids are poorly behaved and older kids do not set a good example. Staff says they are there to help and support but do not follow through. Parents and PTA are cliquey and exclusionary. No safety training on drills for parents who volunteer in the building.

Amazing experience for my daughters. The teachers were nurturing, encouraging and fostered a creative learning environment. The principal is responsive to parents’ feedback and works closely with the PTA.

Great experience, my 3 children have learned a lot in a safe, nurturing environment. My oldest was well-prepared for middle school.

Send home extremely hold homework with no explanation and no proof of what they went through that day. Unable to help if we have no resources for homework

Have had horrible time at Stockton since we started !!

Please bring in New principal. He has no concern for parent concerns. Avoids all issues or tries to to sweep under the rug. He is disrespectful to parents and speaks with such an arrogant attitude

Been fighting for two years now and this school protect their beliefs over the children that are being bullied. They ignore your bully investigations and they heavily discourage it when you request. My child has been bullied for 2 years straight and still there has been no change with these horrible mean children

Horrible. All of my issues have been ignor d and not cared about regarding my child in the school

The principal brought her crying baby to my interview for a position in the school. She put her baby stroller up on the table during the interview. She is beyond disrespectful, and this school has gone so downhill since I was a student there.

As a parent of students who attend Stockton Elementary, I agree wholeheartedly with the statements made about the current principal. To call this woman 'self-centered' is an understatement. She is arrogant and egotistical. When I attended my child's parent-teacher conference, the tension was in the air. A couple of my child's teachers made comments in not-so-many words that they were hesitant to even have an opinion or share creative ideas to help and support the school environment, as they had seen others slapped down and reprimanded if they did so. This principal does not seem to understand that simply walking around and smiling, acting like everything is fine does not excuse the way you 'rule'(not lead, as you should be doing) this school. If the board is smart, they will find a suitable replacement for this principal, as this school's reputation is clearly suffering and will only go down from here if the current principal remains at Stockton.

As others have also stated, the current principal is unprofessional and ruined this school awhile ago. She's self-centered and dismissive of parent suggestions & concerns. Shows favoritism w/staff; many good teachers left and few are happy.

Richard Stockton Elementary has the BEST teachers. They are clearly the best at what they do and I am thrilled with the progress my child has made (student with an IEP). However, the principal could stand to be better. The turnover rate of teaching staff for this specific school is hugely significant and when I inquired about it, several other parents told me it is due to the way that this principal treats and interacts with her staff. Like the "playground" program a couple years back, she uses silly, ineffective programs (the latest of which is something about being a "kindness hero"). To make kids think that you have a receive an award to be nice to someone, instead of it being simply a part of your everyday life is just foolish.

These reviews are one reason and school district is another reason for us to move to Cherry Hill. However I found my son's previous school much better than this. The substitute teacher was not up to the mark. School rating went down from 9 to 7 within a year. I can clearly say standards are very low and rapidly dropping. This year we have a retired substitute principal. Just being nice to parents, kids and appreciating each other will not help in achieving good results. Utmost focus is required on kids' education that will help kids to grow and also school ratings go up. Comparitively I can say standards are very low.

This school has done an amazing job so far in keeping my severely allergic child safe. He is cared for and looked after as i would do it. The teachers are amazing as well as the Principal and Nurse. Weare very lucky to be at Stockton.

I went here from 2004-2010 (k-5) and it was a relatively good school. I loved all my teachers, and one year we did a project with raising crayfish, it was pretty fun. But then when the new principal came (maybe around 2009), it got worse and worse. She made up a new program called "peaceful playgrounds" to help kids play nice during recess, but it didnt turn out too good for her. 1 kid got a concussion the first day where they had us play a bunch o the games to try them out. A few other cerrtainly got a bit beaten up. All and All, caring teachers, but NO WAY for the principal

My son attended Kindergarten at Stockton. There was no orientation whatsoever. It was cancelled due to asbestos abatement which I found out by walking past the entrance to his classroom and seeing the red sign and plastic all over my son's soon-to-be classroom. We were jut told to bring himin on the first day. We never had an opportunity to speak with his teachers beforehand. My son has an IEP and there was no contact before the first day of school from either teacher. We were told "no news is good news" when we inquired about how he was doing by his teacher. My daughter will have an 8 day kindergarten orientation in the district we are now in. Not even close to being 5 star or 10/10, especially considering the taxes one pays to be on the district and specifically in Stockton. Average school. Even if we did not move we would have pulled him out. Principal was the lone bright spot for us. Very nice and involved.

this is my son's first year at Stockton and so far, we are very pleased with the school and the staff.
