Delran is a school district that is definitely moving up the ladder. I have three kids in the school system. All of them have been in accelerated classes, and are "A" students. I credit the teachers and the system! They are happy to go to school, they get involved, have many friends... what more could a parent want? The crazy thing is that they aren't alone. I could go on writing about my kids, but the fact is that all of the kids are put to the test. They carry a hefty workload, and the technology available to them is amazing. Now we have a new superintendent with a highly decorated track record. I'm excited for Delran's future. AND... kudos to the parents in this town. Homecoming blew my mind this year with how many parents got involved, and not just moms. This is a family town, and the dads are engaged as well. I tried to do the PTA thing, but when I got there I realized that they seriously have their act together. They work hard! I'm saying all this as a parent and a witness. It's no wonder home values have been slowly climbing in Delran. The town is growing fast, and additions have been built onto the Middle School & High School.

This district loves to sweep issues under the rug. The demographics have changed drastically, and instead of admitting the problems, they put on their "Lighthouse Blue Ribbon School" T-shirts and smile and wave. What a joke. I also went from K-12 in this district and now have kids at each school. I am moving. That's all I can say. The principal at DIS is helpful, the principal at DHS is new (thank god). The average students fall through the cracks because the behavior mod kids are a distraction. I'm all for mainstreaming LD students, but the ones that are strictly behavior problems need to be dealt with and not allowed to interfere with the regular Ed students right to a good education. Not in this district. And PS, for those who have fallen for the "blue ribbon school" story, do some research on "lighthouse blue ribbons". Not at all what they sold to you before the referendum vote..

I went to Delran, along with my 2 older sisters from Kindergarten to 12th grade. All 3 of us graduated from well known, highly regarded 4 yr colleges and have since gone to have successful careers. We all had wonderful experiences in the Delran school district. One of the best memories include Homecoming week... a fun, memorable experience Delran high school ensures. Please note that the NJ school report card includes test scores from the transient renters in the area that do not speak English as a first language. This is a known fact to the people that live here, but unfortunately, not to many others and can scare people away without this knowledge and who go strictly by the NJ report card that includes all scores. Delran has many amazing teachers, principals, and staff that do a fantastic job and are there before school and after school to offer extra help. I still live locally and now have nieces attending Millbridge and 100% support it. They have been flourishing and I'm not surprised. Just thought my experience as a person with first hand experience in this town for many years could help someone.

Really not that good of a school, just look at the NJ school report card and see that it's a mediocre school district which is sad for all the taxes that we pay and the generous contracts they've been getting all these years. Funny how the teachers and administrators showed their true colors after the last school budget was voted down and how the town council caved in to them. Now who do you really think cares about your kids?
