I moved my daughter out of Tuckerton, where she attended pinelands regional school district that failed her and her two siblings. The best thing I ever did was move out to Chatsworth and allow her a chance that a future at Seneca high school. He is graduating Rowan university next week with a 4.0 GPA with her bachelors degree. All thanks to Seneca and her guidance counselor in pushing college from the day she walked into that school in ninth grade.

Horrible, OVERPAID teachers and administrators. They care more about harassing a $12,000 dollar a year (which mostly goes to the schools) taxpayer walking their dog or taking a lap around the track at the school than they do about absenteeism and academics. They always have their hands out for more money, yet all they do is waste it on things like new tennis courts or replacing grass with astroturf on the track, because they only care about sports. They make it very hard to access your child's grades and assignments and give the worst teachers the most accolades. Their test scores and absenteeism are the worst of all of the high schools in their district. If I had to do it again, I would have sent my child to neighboring Shawnee or Cherokee.

We had just moved to the district and a month in, my daughter suddenly began to suffer unexplained physical neurological issues. She was presenting with loud vocal and motor tics that would have been a distraction to the class and embarrassment to her. While trying to figure out what was going on with doctor appointments and such, my daughter missed a lot of school. I was in constant contact with her teachers, administration and counselor. Keeping them updated multiple times a week. I was trying to get her help to continue school at home while we were in the process of getting her medical care. Nobody at the school responded to my requests for help. Only one teacher contacted me to express concern for what my child was experiencing. Finally, the AVP and school board sends me a canned email about my daughter missing too much school. DUHH!! I was furious. Not one helpful person in the district. Not one. Fed up, I just unenrolled her from the school altogether. We eventually settled in a private school where the faculty actually cared and helped get my daughter back on track. She graduated this year. NHS student and secretary of the student council. Amazing how kids can recover when they have the support they need.

Seneca HS is the least desirable HS in the Lenape District. Sports, clubs, and activities are much better at the other HSs in the district, maybe because Seneca sits in a rural area, with lower income students, and is smaller than the others.
Some teachers and administration members are great, but most are there to collect a paycheck.
They have been trying really hard lately to portray Seneca HS as a family, as a place where everyone cares about the students, but they are putting more effort into making parents/students believe the message than to actually caring for the students.
If you do not fit the mold of the student they want you to be theyll make you be miserable in this place.
Also, the administration is out of sink with the students background . They ignore the values and culture of the small towns this HS serves, there is no reaching out trying to understand where the students come from.

I have had 3 children in Seneca, one of whom was in Special Ed and another in AP English, AP Science and Honors Math. The staff is caring, informative and helpful. All 3 have received a great education.
