Everyone has different experiences while attending school. All I can say that I graduated Florence two years ago and I had a very positive experience there. I felt the teachers were very interested in the students and now I realize how much effort they put into the school. Had a problem with a few of the kids, but who doesn't in high school? I am now in Temple and I have good memories regarding my years at Florence.

As a former student myself, this school district is kind of pathetic. Most of the teachers don't actually care about teaching and care more about that fact that they have a job. They show little effort outside of the school hours they get paid for. The best teachers they have (which you could count on one hand) are ignored and go unsupported by the administration. The administration itself is completely incompetent. The district cares far more about its sports programs, mostly football, than academics or the arts. The languages offered are dull and generic. The Advanced Placement programs are at a bare minimum and most of those teachers are barely qualified to teach the basic subject matter let alone an AP course. The district complains of a lack of funding but its more of a case of lack of control over the funding. There is not a huge issue with any serious bullying within the district. The fact that there is only about 100 kids per grade seems to keep bullying under control since everyone knows each other. The school doesn't push the kids to get into good colleges, it tries to convince every one to go to BCC. Avoid this school, the cons far outweigh the pros in the long run.

I wish I could afford Holy Cross. I would remove my child from this school and never look back.

My son is a Jr. in this school and I am very pleased with his progress. He had a reading problem when he entered this school (from a Phila. school) and they caught it right away and got him up to grade level. The gym/athletic program is first rate. He was a little overweight when he entered Florence and he has lost 20 pounds... .The teachers and staff are very involved and as a parent I am happy.

I graduated from Florence High in 1960, had great teachers and got a very good education.

Since my children have been attending Florence Township Memorial High School, I see the difference in school attendance, homework and attitude. Keep up the good work and thumbs up to all the teachers.
