I graduated from this school and can say without a doubt this is one of the strangest and worst schools I have ever had the misfortune of being enrolled in. The administration does not care about the students at all and me and many of my peers would raise concerns about racism, homophobia, and other forms of discrimination just to be brushed off and ignored by almost all the staff. The teachers are also very uninspiring since they openly talked about how much they hated their jobs and were just waiting for their contracts to expire so they could leave for a real school. The building itself is also disgusting with their being many bugs and bad paint jobs that just make it feel like youre in an abandoned building instead of a school.

Most staff and students seem depressed..... something is missing in the ingredients. However, the students and staff appear to be trying very hard provided the hand that they are dealt.

My experience at this middle school has been very positive overall. The school is academically focused, with a strong emphasis on college prep and STEM subjects, which really helps students build a solid foundation for the future. Teachers are supportive, and the curriculum is challenging in a good way.
Since the school is small, it feels close-knit and you get more individual attention. However, one area where it may be lacking is in resources and sports opportunities. Because of the size, there arent as many extracurricular activities or athletic programs compared to larger schools.
My kids participate in sports and clubs outside of school instead.
If academics and preparation for high school and beyond are your top priorities, this school is an excellent choice. Just keep in mind that sports and other extracurricular options may be more limited.

My children have been attending TEECS for 12 years! I really like the care and support we receive from all the staff at TEECS. The small class sizes and several extracurricular clubs make it a great option for parents. Thanks to their efforts my children received nationwide recognition including the Congressional Award, a virtual internship from NJIT, and a scholarship from the summer program at Rutgers, before graduating from high school!. Great teachers, staff, and admin.

The school's grading practices are designed to give the impression that students are all exceptional. For example a student who fails one or two major tests still gets an A or B in the content area. They do not have a child study team to implement 504 or IEPs for students with special needs. They have denied legitimate concerns from parents of these same children; refusing to acknowledge that there is a problem. At closer scrutiny the school's policies are set up to give the perception of success by way of grading and reaching to standardized testing required by the state
