Dr. Karen Caroe founded the school. She is a believer in classical Christian school and she believes in children. Dr. Caroe is actively engaged in teaching and in monitoring student progress. She works to know every child and wants each one to succeed.

There are a lot of children at the school with learning differences. All of them are successful because teachers know how to accommodate their needs.

The school addresses bullying allegations immediately. There is zero tolerance. The school knows that children learn best when they feel safe and that's the environment they strive to create.

This is the best school ever. It may be small and sometimes that's a challenge to my high school child, but Dr. Caroe wants every child to have the opportunity to graduate with scholarships in place and to have the chance to attend a top tier school. Their graduates have been accepted to great schools and are doing great things as interns for Google, government think-tanks, and non-profits in other countries. They have so many opportunities because of their classical education and Christian character.

Homework is for practice not for self-teaching. It is minimal. Family time is encouraged instead.

Teachers build relationships with each students so they can teach to what each child needs. They genuinely care about their students and families.

They do not punish children for wrong-doing. They gently walk a child through a situation to ascertain where things went wrong and how better choices could be made in the future. They seek true repentance and change; not punishment.

Desert Springs has been a wonderful school for our student. There is a vibrant sense of community, a deep commitment to strong academics, and a concern for our individual student's needs. Our student has loved the depth and breadth of the classical curriculum provided and has thrived both academically and socially. The staff is professional and responsive. We have loved the drama program, the high-quality literature emphasis, the excellent choral program, and the thoughtful leadership in all areas. We're so glad to have discovered this school!
