I have one child in the Gifted and talented program, and one who is needing extra help for most academics. Both students have a individualized educational plan and teachers are terrific in working with students to meet their goals. As a parent I am positively impressed of how involved the teachers are and how involved parents are allowed to be.

My oldest had some trouble with being bullied but the schools policies were enforced quickly and the teachers really addressed bullying with students. The principal was very professional and gave my child lots of support and ensured she felt safe.

Barry students follow the "Barry way" and receive character awards for trustworthiness, respect, caring, and fairness.

Barry has had 3 principals in 4 years. The current principal has been assigned for two years and we love her.

4 years at Barry and so far we have only had amazing teachers that worked with students individually to meet goals.

Overall I am so happy that we have been a Barry family for the past 4 years. As a military family, we have felt the support especially during deployments and in preparation to our next move. Barry is fantastic!

I have three kids attending Barry. Oldest in 5th grade, youngest in kindergarten. Homework is set by the teachers individually, but the kids usually spend just under an hour doing Homework on Mondays. They complete all assignments for the week in Monday and focus on reading (daily 20 minute is what most teachers recommend) and spelling words.

Staff needs an overhaul especially the principle.

As a parent, I have thoroughly loved my children attending Barry. The staff there are amazing and so supportive, both professionally and personally. The satisfaction of knowing my children are well taken care of and are making such great strides in education is worthwhile. Anyone would be blessed to have their children attend this fine school! As a military spouse, and all the stress we are going through as it is in the mission, Barry was my Rock that I could rely on.

We have enjoyed our experience at Barry, we were nervous because they closed our school and added all our kids to Barry. This last year was a transition period with lots of learning and I think that the staff handled it well. The office staff are awesome and cared of our kids, had multiple times of them calling telling me that something happened (fell, etc) so that I would know when they got home. My kids were nervous about the switch, but they made it so easy for them. I am truly grateful and excited to see what this year has in store for them.

Highly disagree. This school has a horrible anti-bullying policy in place.

I have asked for the entire year for my son to be tested and the school has lagged their feet. Because of this, he is farther behind.

My biggest complaint is the leadership. No transparency and biasm.
Posted: May 8, 2017
Leadership is unethical and the staff bullies the kids.

My daughter's teacher has bullied her all year long. This has hurt her spirit. Kids should feel safe going to school and not fear their teacher is bullying them. When a teacher bullies, it gives the students to follow suit. Not a good role model.

I have never been more disappointed in a school that I have with Barry. I have had multiple issues with the school being petty about minor issues but when something comes up that is actually a big deal, they sweep it under the rug. The leadership is unethical and there is no transparency to the parents. They are quick to tell me what my children do wrong, but slow to find resolution. I would highly recommend not sending your child to Barry Elementary. Very military unfriendly and bias.

As a military family, this is the worse possible school. Principal does not take into consideration the needs of military kids and families.

Students are held to high standards. The amazing staff knows their students' needs. Barry has such a warm, positive feeling about it!!!! The teachers go above and beyond to ensure my child is successful!!!

The best thing about Barry is the family environment. Every teacher and staff member cares about every student in the school. Students support each other and help each other every day. Academically, Barry ranks among the best schools in Clovis, but the secret to its success is that students know they are "home" when they're at school.

Most of the time, homework is sent only when daily work in the classroom is not completed.

Barry stresses Character Counts, which models the 6 pillars of character--trustworthiness, respect, responsibility, fairness, caring, and citizenship. Each month, 2 classes win a celebration for modeling good character. Students are held accountable when not modeling good character, but individuals are also rewarded for modeling exceptional behavior. Honesty is expected at all times, and integrity is developed by incorporating all of these traits into each student's daily life.

My daughter is learning so much more than the required curriculum at Barry Elementary. She is learning character skills through social interaction with not only students but the wonderful staff as we'll. these are traits that will be utilized greatly for her success in this ever changing society. I am a proud parent and supporter of Barry Elementary!
