I have had 3 kids at this school since preschool. We love it. 2 of my children are now high schoolers and thriving in the public school system, all thanks to ICA for a great foundation of academics and spiritual teachings. Being in a school this long you have seen lots of changes, and one thing I know for sure I would not trade it because the teachers care, they love their students and their jobs, and my kids are in safe environment.

We love it here, my son is only in preschool but had learned so much in a few months

My kids learn so much academically and socially. While I leave them because both parents work,I feel good knowing that my kids are ahead of the curriculum for there age. It's even better to know the teachers really care and that my kids love there teachers. I bond better with the teachers when I see they have an interest in my children's lives. I also love the fact that while my children learn academics, they also learn about God. I believe children get a better understanding of the world, life, and have a higher self confidence, that helps them to become better people in society. I want to thank ICA and all the wonderful staff for becoming part of our family and being the home away from home for my children!

Family feel Great academics. Well mannered students. Excellent teachers.

My both kids are attending this awesome school last 6 years. I am experiencing the progress and positive improvement from my kids. All the teachers and school office staff are caring, supportive and helpful. Kids are growing in love and having fun and also enjoying their academic side too. This school makes good balance of academic side and activity side.

Our two boys have attended ICA for the past two years and we absolutely LOVE ICA! The teachers love teaching and love the students. It is a very nurturing environment with excellent leadership, administration and staff. I love that the class sizes are very reasonable and the teachers have aids as well! The teachers teach an aggressive curriculum that my boys really enjoy. We wouldn't have them anywhere else!

There are many highly tenured, experienced, and effective teachers at ICA!

Posted: February 23, 2017

Our boys have homework every night (1st & 2nd grade), but it is a reasonable amount and isn't just mindless busy work. There isn't homework over the weekend, which we really appreciate!

From the administration to the volunteers, ICA has proven to be a healthy, nurturing learning environment for my child. The atmosphere is clean, safe and caring with a family feel amongst the teachers and students. I am also pleased with my child's growth through the worship and social interaction at this Christian school. If you want the best for your child, look no further...choose ICA!

My child previously attending another preschool and wasn't getting the age appropriate learning materials needed to prepare her for Kindergarten, I enrolled her into ICA and couldn't be happier, they are truly a blessing, she has learned so much in such a short time. Her teacher is great, the other staff members are so polite and nice, I'm so pleased with this school, thank you all, fo all that you do.

This is an amazing school with wonderful teachers and staff that genuinely care for the students. The curriculum is challenging and causes kids to work hard and as a result the children are proud of their accomplishments. My son has gone to this school for several years and absolutely loves it!

Smaller classrooms provide a more controlled learning experience, however there are not specific opportunities to help student with learning differences.

Posted: February 14, 2017

Homework for my child has been purposeful and age appropriate.

Posted: February 14, 2017

International Christian Academy (ICA) has provided my child with an educational experience that includes compassion, integrity, and kindness. We came to ICA with previous private school experiences, and I believe their dedication to smaller classrooms, encouraging connectedness within the students, and instilling values in our young people, makes them stand out above the rest. I encourage parents to tour ICA whether you are considering private schools for the first time or looking for a change in your current educational plan, I assure you they are something special.

My 2 children attend the preschool here. Every time I've had a problem and came to the leadership with a concern, they've acted quickly to make it right.

I read some other reviews and I can only imagine that the complaining parents came with a divisive, unhelpful attitude, because every problem I've had (though there haven't been many), have been dealt with professionally.

My child was bullied for the entire 3 weeks he was there and has been kicked out because they didn't like how he responded to the bully, yet the dangerous bully who assaulted my child and degraded him for the past 3 weeks remains at the school and has received no punishment, because his mommy works there. Disgusting display of favoritism.

Posted: September 21, 2016

The leadership at this school lets cruel and un-christian like behavior go unpunished, unless you have been with them for a long time.

Posted: September 21, 2016

IF this school knew how to developed students with good character, integrity, compassion, and respect they wouldn't have students that have been with them for so long that bully, degrade, and physically assault other children, and they most certainly wouldn't let that behavior go unpunished but they do and thats why those particular kids think they can continue to display such EVIL un-christian like behavior.

This school gets one star because of how kind and loving my child's two main teachers were, other than that my child's experience at this school was horrible. My child was at this school for about 3 weeks and was picked on and bullied the entire time mainly by the schools golden child, I call him this because he can do no wrong even though he has picked on my child and put his hands on my child he has received no punishment and that is because his mother works at the school and has been with the school for so long, aside from their golden child a few other students were picking on my child also. I took my child out of the public school setting and put him at this school thinking that kids & staff would be kind and carry their self is a christian manner, now don't be fooled the kids and golden child that are cruel will put on a act and smile in front of adults but when they are just with their peers (lunch & recess) their true colors will show. On top of having bullies that receive no punishment for their unkind ways this school is very short with children they do not favor, this was my sons 1st year at this school and was only their for 3 weeks and his 1st time being in trouble, a conflict he had with the golden child that the golden child started, my child was suspended for 3 days when my child came back we were told that he would not be able to attend the school any longer, this is something they should have told us the day they suspended him, but instead wasted are time. Now when my child does something wrong he is put on punishment and I explain to him what he did wrong regardless of what may have started the whole conflict and what he can do in the future to avoid displaying the same behavior, now you would think with this being a christian school they would conduct their self as christians, last time I checked forgiveness and 2nd chances were apart of being a christian that was not granted to my child as if they are above God and don't even grant forgiveness or 2nd chances, mind you the golden child that pushed my child as he walked by and told him to get out of his way received no punishment and even took it one step forward and acted as if that never happened. In the end we have found a MUCH better and LOVING school, I'm digested with this school and how they deal with the children who are not their favorites and suggest that you look elsewhere .

I love this school! The teachers, principal, and staff are amazing. On any given day you can expect to see teachers, parents, students, and office staff praying together and encouraging each other. Both of my children are well-loved and are learning at an advanced level. I love that I can take them to school and not worry about them!

My children have gone here since preschool. The staff and teachers have always been extremely caring and involved with the kids and their success. I have connected with all of the junior high teachers who are sharp and even inspirational. Encouraging the kids to thrive even at the difficult age of junior high! I am so happy with the curriculum and the growth of my kids here.

It's the best school I've ever seen with Love and Logic as the teaching foundation, great programs that evolve with our time, dedicated teachers and staff members, an affordable price that is worth investing in your kids and so many side events that make it a five star experience overall.

My experience for my daughter has been exceptional. She started in the pre-k program at the preschool and Ms.kristen was an amazing teacher. She is now finishing her kindergarten year. She is reading, solving simple math problems, telling time, and most of all, she is enjoying school. She has memorized bible verses every week, attended weekly chapel meetings, and extra classes such as Spanish and computers. I've been involved with helping with their version of a PTA and they have put on wonderful events for families, students and teachers. I know my daughter is in a safe and loving environment that teaches Christian character and morals. I would definitely recommend this school.

Teachers use Love and Logic and keep the students accountable. They also teach Bible, and the lessons guide them into Christian principles for always saying the truth, developing Christian character and Christian diligence, and please God with our actions.

My kids had been at this school for 6 years, and I had a wonderful experienced with all the teachers since Pre-School to Fourth Grade. The teachers are amazing, and they truly love the kids. I drop my kids off in a place where they are safe, they are challenged, and they are loved. I love ICA!

Posted: May 6, 2016

the teachers are phenomenal. They have a great relationship with the parents, keeping them informed via emails. They also are prompt answering texts. They build partnerships with the parents for the student's benefit.

Posted: May 6, 2016

In Kindergarten to Second Grade is about 30 minutes of homework per night with parent involvement. In Third Grade, it can be 1 hour of homework independently. In Fourth Grade it is an average of 2 hours of homework. The intensity grows and the years get higher. It is proportional to the student's growth. I find it just right for their age.

This school is horrible. The teachers pick out students to pick on and fail. Then, they ask them to repeat a year. If you switch schools when they ask this, those students normally get straight A honor roll. Some of the teachers tell the parents and students they would never get into a larger private school, which is false. They almost always do. The school recently dropped most of the only good teachers. They are a horrible school. Keep your family and friends away from this school!

I am a new staff member this year, and what I have seen so far is not only a diverse community of staff but also that our staff is invested into the future of our students. The Teachers are empowered and can reach the students effectively in each unique learning curve students may have. Parents here are involved and want to know how they can help at home or even volunteer, this helps the overall experience for all students. Lastly, I have observed that each teacher is very talented and are able to work within their strengths and engage with their students in ways that I haven't seen in Public Schools in our Metro Area. I recommend this school if you are in the market for a Private school or looking for a new/improved educational program for your child(ren). Simply call our main line and work with our admin team to find what works best for you. Thank you for reading this reviewing and researching on behalf of our future generation of children. They are the future.

The preschool and elementary school is great. Middle school is a whole different world. Get your child out before 6th grade and you will be happy. Stay away from ICLV lock ins for middle school students. No supervision and a lot of kids sneaking around for promiscuous activity. The principal is quite self righteous and only uses Christian morality when he chooses. There is too much favoritism too. I wish I would have know because it was like 2 completely different schools. Again, preschool was amazing. Elementary school teachers were great. Middle school....a hot mess!!!

My childless have had and amazing education so far at Ica. The parents and families are wonderful but the teachers are outstanding! Middle Is having a great revamp and there are so amazing teacher who are joining the program. Mrs Haines is wonderful! The athletic director is changing the face of the athletic department as well. My children are being developed into leaders of the community.

ICA has an amazing elementary school. Most of the elementary school teachers are nice and willing to work with the students. The middle school is rather different. The middle school doesn't have a lunch room and the students eat outside. The lockers are in a restroom that is almost always dirty. Homework is extremely hard and confusing compared to other schools. There are only two Curtis members on campus, and anyone could leave or walk onto campus without question. The elementary school is much better than the middle school there. You should send your students there until middle school, and then pull them out.

ICA is a school focused on not only developing children in academic excellence, but in character, leadership and influence. The teachers at ICA are invested in the growth of the students in every aspect of life. Also, as a Christian, I appreciate the opportunity my children have to learn who God is. The weekly Chapel time is full of fresh messages, fun songs and a chance for the students to apply what they are learning.

I am a student at this school and let me tell you it is amazing. The elementary part of the school is great. They even treat the 6th grade as middle schoolers. I write here not on behalf of elementary, but of middle school. The teachers are great, but one teacher is never treated how we should treat her. I bet half of the students wrote a bad review based on her. That teacher is great. We may be middle schoolers, but she teaches us on a higher level. I am in 7th grade and the math at the school is easy, but only if you really put in the effort. The science is amazing. My class is doing Biology at the moment. My history class is great and this teacher also doesn't get the credit she deserves. I can say though that the students morality is a bit edgy, but we work on it.

So, I am a student. Currently I'm a freshman in high school. I went to ICA for a long period of time. I went there 2nd grade through 6th grade. I didn't make it all the way through 6th without switching to a different school. Elementary school was, let me say, fantastic. The teachers were amazing, and had a passion for God. Middle school on the other hand, was horrible. The middle school teachers could care less about you, and give you bad grades when you do your best. The work in even 6th grade there is unbelievably hard. 3 hours of homework every night. Sometimes I would even have to stay up till midnight to finish it. Then I would get a bad grade the next day. Students in the middle school are inappropriate, make out in hallways, and even "play" with each other where cameras are not around. DO NOT, I repeat, DO NOT enroll your kids in the MIDDLE SCHOOL here. ELEMENTARY SCHOOL, YES. MIDDLE SCHOOL, NO. After your kid is out of the 5th grade at ICA, transfer over to a better middle school. Trust me, you'll thank me later.

ICA is a wonderful place to educate your children. I have 2 children attending ICA. One child is in 7th grade and the other is in 4th. Academics and character development are very strong at ICA. My older child will be graduating from ICA next year after 8th grade and move on to high school. She will be more than prepared to excel in High School due to the excellent academic middle school program at ICA. I plan to keep my younger child in ICA through 8th grade specifically because of the ICA middle school English department. The writing, literature and grammar classes are very exceptional. I believe my children are receiving a stellar education and I am thankful to be a part of the ICA community.

My daughter has been attending International Christian Academy (ICA) since preschool. This year she entered into ICA's middle school, and I could not be happier with the transition. All the teachers at ICA middle school are exceptional! They have guided and encouraged her in such a loving way. It has contributed greatly to her success as a new sixth grader. Most importantly, each teacher is pouring into her spiritually, and I see her growing in her walk with The Lord. I am so grateful for these awesome teachers, and the great leadership of Mr. Mekus, ICA's principal.

I can't begin to tell you how deeply disappointed I am with this school. I knew that sending my child to a Christian School wouldn't solve all the problems that arise in today's education system but I certainly didn't expect the bad behavior coming from the Middle School Teachers. I EXPECT them to be the standard bearer of Christian values. I was sadly mistaken. My child has come away from this school completely demoralized and broken - and has no appetite for education in any way shape or form. PLEASE stay away from this school and it's toxic middle school teachers.

My daughters been going here since preschool and is now in Kindergarden she loves it here ! The teachers are loving, kind and fair with every student. My daughter is learning so much academically and spiritually . Her reading ,comprehension and math is at a second grade level. I hope to keep her here thru grade school. I am enrolling my other daughter in the preschool program. In order for your child to be successful here you must be attentive with there homework and try your best to be involved with the school . I am a working mom and I can not make every school event but I do try my best. I love this school no complaints. Sincerely , Charmaine Laurente 4-23-14

This school has a great education. Although there is alot of drama at this school in middle school. Many of the middle school teachers take small things an make it a big deal which i do not enjoy. Overall this school has a great education. I would rate this school out of 10 for elemantery a 8 out of 10 and for Middle School a 4 out of 10. I recomened this school through grades K-5. Not for middle school .

My child attended this school from Pre-K through fourth grade. While most of the teachers are pleasant people, a good many do not possess actual teaching degrees (those who are worth their salt are often criticized by their coworkers and the principal). This becomes a problem once you've moved your child to a public school and discover after spending thousands of dollars in tuition over the years, that your child still can't do simple multiplication problems and doesn't know anything besides sanitized, God-filled versions of American history events. My child left ICA and is now struggling to keep up with the sub-par curriculum offered by the CCSD. Worth noting: ICA lacks any sort of school library. The lunch program (Pizza Hut, Dairy Queen & such) is a nutritional nightmare. There is a bullying problem on campus that the administration refuses to acknowledge. Unless you are also a member of the church, your complaints/concerns will likely fall on deaf ears. Campus security is non-existent: wide-open campus, no one pays attention to comings & goings. Price-wise, compared to other area private schools, ICA seems like a deal. Trust me: In the long run, you'll get what you pay for.

Academically, it is a pretty good school where the kids learn at a more advanced level. My child was an average A/B student so learning is not an issue. If your child is not that bright or not fast in learning new things, I recommend not to put them there or they will fall behind because the teachers teach at a fast pace and do not tolerate much with kids that are not getting the subject. The principal and teachers are nice, even though the teachers are not licensed, but they do not demonstrate fair discipline among everyone equally. If you are an active parent that plays well with the school's politics, your child will always be the star, no matter what. So an average Jack or Jill who does well in school, sadly his or her achievements may not be recognized as well as the kids whose parents are super involved with the school's games and politics. Overall, I was happy with ICA academically but the drama and politics are too much to handle for me as a working parent. You have to almost constantly kiss a** to everyone in the school environment for your kids to get treated fairly.

God is at work at ICA. It's a fabulous school. Teaching a good moral foundation is key at this school. I have been blessed to have my children in attendance for the last 5 years. I could not imagine how different they would be if they had not gotten to experience this school.
