My two kids attended to school for about four years! Theyre reading and writing is so under developed due to the lack of teaching. I cant believe half of the stuff Ive seen in the school. There is a parent that drops off their kid at seven in the morning every single day while teachers walk by him and do absolutely nothing while he sits outside for two hours, Ive seen teachers laugh at children when they have a little bit of a meltdown. Ive seen teachers in hallways while I pick up my kids talking about how horrible their classes are as the kids stand there next to them hearing all of this, and the two principles are the worst human beings of all my son was attacked by two girls proceeded to get suspension and then threatened by one of the fathers during a school activity night. This school does not care about any students worst mistake coming to the school and I regret not pulling out my kids earlier.

This school values customer service for its students and parents. There is always something good going on at the school. The teachers there seem very engaged with student success.

I am so surprised by the 1 star reviews because my son is thriving! He is a Pre-K student in the child find program and he has learned so much! His teacher or the teachers aide will email or text me with updates. They will call me if there is anything wrong. They treat all of the students in the class like their own! My son loves school. He has a hard time separating like any 3 year old but will ask to go to school on his days off. I don't know what other indicators I need to see that he loves school. He went to a different school in the beginning of the year and this school has been way better by FAR. The assistant principal is always at the front gate for any questions and always says hello.

As a concerned parent and after evaluating the school for the past four years, I am very disappointed with the overall education my child has received at this school. The leadership does not meet the skills and abilities to successfully run this school and get it on track. My concerns have been expressed and very little done about it. Students at this school are not able to thrive and learn in a disruptive classroom environment, overcrowding with 30 + students per class, the problem starts at the top, if the right leadership is in place, the entire school is successful, teachers should not be afraid to speak up and should have a better support system.

School staff is unprofessional and rude. My son's kindergarten teacher clearly had her favorites in class and always gave my son a hard time. Awful experience overall.

Terrible this will be my sons last year. The majority of the staff seem like they don't like kids! Why are they working there? Staff is rude and cold, be surprised if they decide to greet you when you walk in. On any given day they will look at you like you are bugging them. All their doing is sitting their butt down all day.

My son wasn't being challenged enough. Work was usually too easy for him .
Posted: April 10, 2018
Both years my son was here, we had good experiences with his two teachers. I can't say much about the other teachers.
Posted: April 10, 2018
My sons teacher was a good role model and tried to instill these values to the class. Not the school itself. The school leaders and office staff lack compassion add respect.
Posted: April 10, 2018
The principal is rarely seen and I requested to talk to her about an issue and never heard from her. The school started bad under her, and it's getting worse.
Posted: April 10, 2018
I have no idea about how they are treated.
Posted: April 10, 2018
My son had an issue with an out of control student and the one good thing I can say about the school is that they took action and gave it the attention it needed.

Teachers try their best, but policies are out of their control.
Posted: August 11, 2017
Bullying is out of control and no consequences that would deter kids from quitting.
Posted: August 11, 2017
Nothing really being done to praise good behavior good or bad equals same. Repeated bullying only 3 day suspension then go back to normal and nothing changed, one entire year of this cycle.

No this school is horrible at dealing with bullying, my kid is going to another school now and his only worry is kids being bullies like they are at this school.

Investigate this school. The bullying is out of control. The attitude of the staff is horrible, they act as if they dont want to be there. The leadership displayed is horrible and discouraging. The way they speak to the children is unprofessional. I heard a higher staff make a joke to a child, stating if she didn't get picked up on time, she would take her to her home to do chores and scrub the toilet with a toothbrush?!? Something is not right at this school. They haven't properly educated the students, a lot of students: GET LEFT BEHIND ACADEMICALLY, which isn't fair especially when they don't provide proper tutoring or assessments to help. They do not provide standard training for teachers to fully educated new programs /testing in general. They don't care to follow district guidelines or procedures. Funding is spent incorrectly. This school is horrible. The principals cant handle their positions. This school is a complete failure and it shows from their staff, to test scores, to bullying, it's an unpleasant environment, the school is all over the place. The children aren't even excited when you see them. They have to chant daily chants from the principal about conduct, while eating lunch every day. Every single day! Please! Investigate this school!! Do it for the children's sake, because they suffer the most. They deserve the Best and this school have failed them on so many levels. Please investigate this school.

Let's just say that I agree with every comment on here. We moved from out of state and my daughter spent her last 2 months of kindergarten here. To start, I wasn't allowed in the school as a parent, I couldn't tour the school, classroom, or observe at any point. It was oddly on lockdown. I get the front doors and exterior doors being locked, but to not be able to be involved as a parent??? Next, I observed bullying, fights, and horrible behavior not addressed. My sweet 6 year old would come home and when I asked her what happened at school her responses were that children stood on tables and threw pencils. Great learning environment. My daughters teacher was absent frequently, and one day no sub showed up. Me and two other parents waited outside with the kids until the school figured it out. Lastly, after speaking with other parents, it was pretty clear that the school had taken a turn for the worst and that many great teachers left to teach elsewhere. I had all these experiences in just a short 2 months. I'm moving my kids to a much better school next year before my youngest starts kindergarten.

My child is going to this school. I can say I wish the classes had less children and the teachers more patience. My child was denied attending the kindergarden award ceremony as well as other children in his class. After practicing daily for the performance they decided he should not participate for running around in class which is not acceptable however is an extreme punishment for being kindergarteners in my opinion. What a way to motivate kids not letting them attend and sing. If youare able to, send them elsewhere.

This school use to be awesome before Mrs. Irbing Beas hired as the principal. The office staff is rude, uninformed, and not professional. My children did great before the change and most of the teachers left, since then my son was moved from his original class to a teacher who was 6+months pregnant, to a sub for 2 months back to his new teacher. His behavior and grades suffered from the inconsistency of this school. The responses of the office were children are resilient. My daughters had a long term sub who was a 1st time teacher, he told me when my child was having difficulty with some work that she will get it that he is just learning the work also and not to worry about it. Her teacher also left the school halfway through the year but she was fortunate to get an awesome teacher Dr. Salazar who changed the class around. She is the only reason this school was ok. This school has failed my children in every way!

My kids were being bullied at this school I pulled them out after I talked to the ladies in the front and their response was you were never bullied as a child wth I was never bullied as a child and I do not think it is acceptable even if I was ! They told me I had to make an appointment with the principal if I wanted to talk to her. I never heard from her til this day 3 years later I still have never received a call

My kids have been going here for 3 years. Back then it was such a great school, but now, since the new staff have came & principal, It seems unorganized, unprofessional, and so much more difficult to deal with the staff. Parking is HORRIBLE, releasing the kids after school is dangerously near traffic & oncoming buses, which remind you that their are aggravated drivers out there trying to pick up their own kids but theirs absolutely NO WHERE to park! Kids only have 10 minutes to eat meals and breakfast is not enough time. Announcements in the morning is HOT! They expect the students to be on time and lined up when then the teachers & principal (vice principal also) isn't on time themselves. I don't see why the morning announcement inside their classes over the PA system, then in winter, it's gonna be too cold! Theirs just so much more! I tried to talk to the principal one-on-one, she wasn't available and I never heard back from her, only her assistant.

Both my children have been going to this school since 2009 and I loved the teachers and school up untill 2013 with the changing of pricipals and then in 2014 when more then half of the teachers moved to another school I am very unhappy w/the new leadership at this school, it is very unorganized and the staff is very unimformed on what is going on each day. Not to mention the craziness that happens every morning during line up and morning announcements.

My children have been going here since kindergarten and I must say I'm not pleased with how I'm treated everytime I walk into their front office the staff is very rude !!! I don't feel like they want to be at work . I don't feel like children should even be left on campus with staff they really make you feel uncomfortable!!!

James B McMillian has to be one of the WORST schools in the district. The bullying here is absurd and the administration does NOTHING, they say they will "look into it" and they never call back. This is by far the worst school I have encountered in 23 years with children in the Clark County School District. The office staff is very rude and they follow their own rules...not the district rules. This school needs to be observed by the district or shut down all together. I will be looking into a zone variance for my children. They are treated poorly by staff and students.

We just move around the area. I went to enroll my 8yr old to 3rd grade n the lady in the office was very rude she didn't even check my address, I'm Latina n she try to make fun of my ascent even when I understand n I speck English. I happen to be there when a parent needed somebody to translate for him n she was very rude with him. I immediately ask for a variation zone form. If that's the lady that's supposed to b helpful I don't know what to think about the teachers..... I hope I can move my son to another school.
