this school is so unpleasant. I have been there before and i would never come back. I hope it shuts down. A classmate hit me because they had anger issues.

I do not recommend this school based on my personal experience.
There were ongoing concerns about safety and communication that I felt were not handled appropriately by the administration. Over the course of several months, we raised multiple issues that were met with delays, unclear answers, and what seemed to be a lack of urgency. From a parent's perspective, this was frustrating and disappointing.
I also personally witnessed and we have been told by counselor that CPS and police were on campus during school hours. I dont know the full details of their presence, but seeing that as a parent added to my concerns. It made me question the schools ability to manage situations internally and maintain a safe environment.
While there are a few great teachers at this school, it was also concerning to see some of the best educators leave. That, combined with what I experienced, makes me unable to recommend the school in good faith.
These are simply my observations and my honest opinion as a parent who tried to work with the system for months.

Way better than regular public school. Teachers are a lot more involved and love the app that the teachers communicate on.

This school is definitely under par. I've been at this school since 2020 in lockdown, this is my last year here. In my 4 years of being at this school my experiences have not been good. There are large amounts of violent fights. The kids are able to get away with having weapons, alcohol, vapes, and other things kids should not be able to get away with, one kid even charged their vape on a computer cart. The teachers definitely have a favoritism mindset and treat kids differently based on certain factors. They do not provide the necessary care for people who are special Ed or are in need of credits, and then proceed to blame the students even though it is the school who is not providing the right care. Back in January of 2023, an 8th grade student released homemade mustard gas into the school causing an evacuation of the entire building and early dismissal, even then, they wouldn't let certain kids leave. They also RARELY EXPEL PEOPLE, they'll let kids off with a suspension of max 10 days but then the kid will come back and do the same stuff, a kid who has stolen and vaped, and destroyed school property has not been expelled after 7 offenses. A student was also caught masturbating in class and was not expelled because "he has mental issues" the only repercussion was a 10 day suspension. An EX pe teacher was arrested after dragging students across the floor. Another substitute forcibly made students kiss. The current principal "Mr. Campbell" is absolutely horrible at thinking things through and makes the school a living hell with all the pointless enforcements he makes that only cause inconvenience. On a positive note, shoutout to assistant principal "Mr. Colquitt" for being an amazing person and handling situations well. He is a great guy.
