My Son is a 6 Grader there and We had tried to sign him up for Soccer. I called in the 10th they said it's the last day for sign up. They said just sign up online. I go to sign up online finish the application press complete and the system kept giving different error messages. it kept saying names don't match but they did clearly. Me working on Computers and Training plus being A+ I No when I get a system error message that it's system trying to connect at that time. So after Completed the whole application 5 times and press complete I realized I would have to call them. I Called no answer back. I Tried them early that morning the 11th Athletic department lady did not return my call all day. I tried the second half of the day left a message no reply. Then I had to wait until next tried again they sent me to same ladies voicemail. I called back and said That Athletic is not there or just not returning my message? Then they said she's been there the whole time. Then She said oh I see she got your messages but we weren't even gonna back you need to say more on the message not just your phone and your name and your kids name. We don't even Call back if you don't say enough! I said well on the answering machine it ask specifically to leave those 3 things. She Said Does it say that? I said that's exactly what it ask for. She said oh will I will tell her she needs to request more information. I said Ok. Then She tried to login and she couldn't get it to work website was not working for her I was on phone like 45minutes waiting for her to figure out why it wasn't working for her either. Then Just hung up. I waited maybe I got disconnected figuring I know they have phone number good would call back. I waited for the to call back 20 minutes no reply. I called back and she said oh we're glad you called back. Your right it's not working we're gonna back as soon as we can get in or it's. Then she called back and said it's fixed now we're not gonna help even though it wasn't work your late we can't help. Her name is Thana Very rude and bad customer service. Now my kid can't play because the system wasn't working.

I graduated from this school this year, so let's sum up my experience at the 3 years I attended this school! The students here are not great and are pretty rude to literally everyone, its extremely normalized. Lots of fights go down in the park by this school and bullying isn't exactly prevented. Also, you have this horrible SCHOOL counselor (counselor of the SCHOOL. Not a specific grade.) , shes really rude and i personally dont like her. I understand counselors have be intimidating for a reason, but you never really have to be rude, she lacks respect even to those who are calm and usually stay out of trouble. I suggest looking at the school's website for specific names, as i wont be saying any names on here. There are some great teachers but its honestly rare. 8th graders do not get any sort of graduation award and the only thing the school ever really does is host events in the gym after school on special occasions, which is what they do for 8th graders when they are dismissed from the school. Ive heard these events arent really great and theres no proper dismissal for 8th graders, so that's really a shame. If you're looking for a good elective for this school, i suggest you pick drama or band, you'll have great teachers and i believe that you can go on fun trips if you get into advanced drama. I wasnt exactly into drama as my elective and i didnt have a great passion for it or anything, really i was actually terrified of it but the teacher is the sweetest and he's extremely fun so I enjoyed his class. Honestly, nobody likes school, and there's obviously not going to be many who have good things to say about it, but after attending this school both me and my parents regret not having picked a different one. So please, take a better consideration of other schools that may interest you before you settle for this one. This review is clearly very opinion based but take it in the perspective of a student who was calm, quiet, and respectful, because that's who you're hearing this from.

Your view of this place changes when you look closer at it. I understand that some students can be horrible with no care for others except themselves, but there are still some students here who are pretty nice. you can make friends with people here, you just have to find the right ones that fit you. Students can sometimes be trashy and mean people but some other students you can find that fit you. The Teachers can be pretty nice too, even if they are mean they're just trying to help you. even if they get mad over nothing, it's probably just something that happened in their life that has a long-lasting effect on them. I understand this now because I've been here for two years and I'm looking forward to doing a third year at this school. maybe bullying can be a problem but now some teachers can help you with the bullying problems. People say the school sucks because they most likely have not seen what can have to offer. The Admin/Administrators can help you as well. the staff is overall nice once you get to talk to them and know them a bit more. counselors also can help you. just pop up whatever you need help with on a piece of paper and put it in a basket. or at least that's what I have now. the deans are also really helpful, they might not help you with what you need but they will try the best they can. I am a student at Johnson Junior High School. and this is my message to anybody who's reading this. give this school a try and if it does not suit you, that's fine just find another one. but I recommend this school. thank you for reading.

I went here last year and was assaulted and all did the teachers did was say they would talk to them and never did and said they were suspended when they were still allowed outside the property which caused them to still bullied me and my friends. my friend all when changing in locker rooms she got a picture taken of her and posted for her to be body shamed. The fights were happening every day to the point we didn't even care. I was also suicide baited a lot and bullied by a bunch of girls causing anxiety attacks and stress about going to a place I use to love.
Teachers were ok but the way the school set it up I was put into a class were I knew nothing and couldn't change it. Im currently at a different school (not a magnet) doing so so so much better do what you want that's my personal experience and some people have better ones.

Notice how when you read the reviews the good ones are all from 2020 or a few years ago, and all the negative reviews are more recent? Yeah because this school sucks now, 2 months in and we have already received 2 death threats, and at least 5 different fights have happened, my friend was even a victim of serious bullying. This school feels extremely suppressive and depressing. The school lunch is dry and bland. Many of my classmates are also disrespectful. The only thing good about this school is the teachers but not all of them. Please reconsider if you're planning on sending your kid to this school.

i am currently in the seventh grade as of writing this and i am just starting the school year. the teachers are amazing but the school has a bullying problem. a bunch of people saying things such as n word and other slurs i tried the school recomended way of reporting a bully called safevoice nothing ended up happening. they often threaten me and i am not sure if that is the same for others. the students who do that often do it infront of teachers. i was in pe once somone was threatening to punch me and there was a teacher nearby that did nothing about it. the lunch is free and can be good somtimes. the bus i ride however allways arrives a little after the first bell so i am normaly tardy for my first class from somthing i cannot control. the clubs are amazing.

I went to this school from 6th to 8th grade. I had a great experience going to this school. The staff is great and most of the teachers really care about their students. I recommend going here. Last school year was my last year at this school and it was great.

This school is amazing. You can read horrible reports about this school about Mercury, Fights, Bullying, etc. The school deals with these issues immediately! But you can get a GREAT education at this school if you really want to. And if you want to get into trouble, you can at any school in the world! If you want to learn, Johnson is a great place. For better or worse, the teachers TRY and WORK THEIR BUTTS OFF to help to educate our children. There is no perfect solution to a school unless you put your child into private school. And the school can remove you instantly if your childs grades are low, or if they are misbehaving. Public school must follow strict protocols for discipline and learning to protect children. I think that it goes too far, however, Johnson follows the law to a "T". And the school is very racially fair. Stay out of trouble and stay out of the deans office. Get in trouble, and no matter what color you are, you will be dealt with!

The teachers at this school are excellent and they care about the students.

Posted: June 6, 2019

Teachers work very hard to make school appealing....there are many different programs to help the students out academically and socially.

Posted: June 6, 2019

The fine arts, PE and after school sports are amazing at this school. Students are able to stay after school and get support from teachers. The teachers care about the students here.

Posted: June 6, 2019

The admin does their best to help students out. Are they strict? Yes, but that is what middle school students need.

Posted: June 6, 2019

The school offers training to the teachers to help them learn about effective techniques. The teachers receive ELA (English Language Learners) training to help deal with students from other countries and hispanic students who need help with overcoming a new language. You need to see these teachers who are required to attend weekly trainings on helping students to learn!

There is a no bullying strategy at Johnson. If students are bullying on social media or in school, the dean instantly investigates the situation and will approve positive discipline for those students.

idk why y’all considering bringing yo kid to this place. this school is up and about no bullying and keeping the kids safe and all of that other bull yet kids getting into fights every direction you go. it’s like as if we were a big store like target hosting black friday for christmas time. and also mercury ?? in the school building?? um i don’t think y’all take care of the school good enough and not how you handled the situation. they quick to catch a kid running in the hall but not with big situations like the roach problem and that mercury stuff. administration can barely fix anything properly. their school lunch isn’t something you would want your kid to be eating on a daily basis, pizza everyday should be something you won’t want your child to be eating if you’re a good parent. my friend had gotten in trouble for no reason, and i told her (ms jacobs lmao i @ed you) that i had the actual facts on what happened and she wanted to "go" as if she was denying what had actually happen. watch out cause your child is going to get accused of something they didnt even do. yet again this school is ghetto and ratchet so i wouldn’t be suprised if y’all parents do think that’s a good idea. whoever thought this school was good doesn’t know what actually goes down.

Teachers care about students and actually call the parents about more then just issues. When a they were concerned with my daughter they went out of there way to call home and ask if she was feeling ill or if something was going on cause she wasn't her usual happy self

I have an eighth grader, it's his second year. I cannot tell you how much his confidence has grown. He's always been a great student, but very shy. Thanks to some Amazing Teachers he raises his hand and speaks his mind.

I also have a sixth grader here. He's learning how to play the trumpet. Mr. Motamedy's band program is Awesome!

Mrs Jacobs is Fantastic. As an Assistant Principal, she really understands the need for a parent to be their Child's Advocate!

Johnson is a great school. For every review saying how rude and drama-filled the kids are, you'll find those kids everywhere. As for some of the staff members, yes there are some terrible ones that I agree need to be fired. But I advise you to give this school a chance because if you chosen the right classes and became friends with the right people, you will love this school. So please do not talk bad about this school. I went there for all three years and seen it change for the better each and every year. So write a bad review when you went there all three years , not just one.

Posted: April 3, 2015

Attended for three years. First off, my main problem wasn't really the teachers but the students. Even while telling many adults whether my parents or admin, I was bullied. It became easier to deal with bullies by ignoring them than to ask people for help. This statement would lead you to think that it was easy, but it made my life an inescapable torturous daily living condition. I have to say that the teachers were really helpful. I felt very lucky with the teachers I had, they always motivated the unmotivated (including me) to go do things. Looking back from high school I saw the potential that the teachers saw in myself. I'm convinced though that without parental guidance I may not be as successful as I am now. To backtrack it was my parents who motivated my teachers to motivate me. Even still, I felt like I was drowning in their work. I would complete assignments never motivated to reach the next one and never saw a clear path for my success. The administration did their job perfectly. My definition of perfect fits right into the CCSD definition of perfect. Perfectly robotic in solving problems and disputes. Never thinking about the children, but the jobs. -Displeased Student

I really don't like this school. Most people are way too obsessed with drama and no one can just be nice. Yes, there are a few people who are nice but even they like to get all up in the drama. The teachers are okay. Some are really mean for no reason at all but there are also really good teachers like Mr. Walters, Ms. Chavez, and Mr. Wanemacher! And the soccer team is fun to be on (coached by Ms. Chavez). But the rest is pretty bad. The teachers never take into consideration of what we would like to learn. Its all about them. The people in the office are always really rude and have an attitude.

Johnson Junior High School was a very unpleasant experience. I only attended the school for three months and those were the worst three months of my life. The teachers are very dramatic, and the students are rude and careless for other people's feelings. I remember most of my teachers' could never get me to understand anything, they also would get mad and over-exaggerate over the most littlest of things. If you wanted to dress normally for one of the days you would have to pay a dollar, unlike Garside who has free dress days throughout the year. In my opinion I wish I did not attend Johnson and stayed at my old middle school. I can easily say that thanks to attending Johnson for those three months my grades dropped down to D's and F's by the end of my eighth grade year. That school is really good for nothing, and a very unpleasant atmosphere. I would not send my kids there, and I suggest you don't.

Walter Johnson Junior High has easily topped my list of middle schools. Ive attended all 3 years. Honestly, I can't name one staff member I dislike . As a personal reccomendation, the best five teachers would be: Jim Loukas, the one health and PE instructor to have worked since the school opened. Mrs. Koprowski & Ms. Tishler, the 8th grade english dynamic duo. Mr. Walters, the interactive geography & history teacher. And last but not least, all three science department teachers who taught me. Mr. Wanemaker, Ms. Chavez, and Mrs. Etter. Anyone lucky enough to be taught by at least ONE of the above members deserves a great year at Johnson. Imagine how great my experience was when I was taught by ALL of them, (Except Ms. Tishler). May 14, 2014

This is school is awful. I went in to get my little brother his class schedule and was met with the most rude and unpleasant woman I have ever met. Ms.Moody, the register secretary, didn't even glance up when I walked to the desk and asked if I could get my brothers schedule. She very rudly snapped at me mid sentence "We're closed." I then asked if they would be open on Monday so we could get it. She had the nerve to ask me "Why hasn't he gotten it?" I sharply said "That's why we're here." She then asked very condescendingly, "Well did you move?" I said "That's really none of your business." She said "Because they were mailed to you. Are you his parent?" I said no. She then happily said "We'll I can't give you any information" She then childishly said to my 12 year old brother, ill give you the information. The whole thing got very out of hand and I can't believe they would have someone so rude working with cherry. She clearly has no respect of any kind for anyone and I will be speaking to the principal about her. The whole thing could have easily been avoided if she had not come off so unpleasant and condescending. I'm very disappointed in this school.

I went here for 2 years. It was dreadful! The kids are so rude, and snobby. The teachers would get mad at the littlest thing and give you detention. The school is very "dramatic" it seems like the kids are more into drama than learning. I had no friends because all the kids thought I was too feminine (I am a guy). I transferred to Brinley Middle School for 8th grade and it had much nicer kids! It was fairly clean, and the teachers were determined to help us learn, which the teachers at Johnson didn't. But hey this is my opinion feel free to disagree.

I went here for 3 years and overall I'd say it's a pretty good school. It's clean, and everyone does their job. I liked it. Although some of the kids can be rude but I say ignore it. The staff is pretty good and the principle is nice. Things like electives are really fun too. I'd say it's a good school.

This school is horrible! I attended my seventh grade year and it was absolutely dreadful. The kids were so rude, racist, and so ignorant. There's so much drama, and bullying there and the teachers do nothing about it! My counselor did nothing to help me and the teachers were bad! They would get side tracked so easily and talk about mostly their life, we learned nothing! NJHS was horrible, they seemed to give membership to ANYONE.
