My daughter attended CSN HS on the West Charleston campus. This school gave her an incredible foundation for success in her future. She graduated with a degree in Civil Engineering. She knew how to navigate university professors, class requirements, and degree requirements. In addition, she learned how to advocate for herself in the post-secondary environment.

These teachers are the teachers that want to be a part of your child's success and they are.

It is very balanced with exams, homework and projects. The stress they felt in their regular high school with homework, exams, books to read, projects, etc is 5 times what they experience here and they are being pushed harder to be better everyday. They never feel left behind or not catching on and yet the classes are college level.

Every student is treated like they are the only student that matters. They are held accountable on a personal level as well as academic with no issues of peer pressure. The teachers treat them like a family member, rather than a number. The pressure of homework and exams seem easy when you have teachers and staff that help you with it personally everyday. They also have free tutoring for the kids that take a class that may be pushing their comfort zone. It widens the horizon for every student to know they have support.

I highly recommend this school to all kids that are focused on college and academics. The teachers, staff and student body are top notch and my kids have never felt more in tune with learning and being involved as they do here. Each teacher has treated them as though they were the best of the best which helped them feel they could do anything they set their minds to. No peer pressure to drink, so drugs or have sex. They have the freedom to be themselves without the judgement of other kids that make different choices. It has been an outstanding experience!!

Excellent school! CSN High School-West is a great school for those kids that want a more challenging education. My son graduated in 2010 with 36 college credits. Didn't get the Assoc Degree but a great start to college at the University of Nevada in Reno. This program works great for those kids that are more mature and just want a higher academic challenge. If your kid is not responsible and lacks the maturity it takes to interact with college students than this high school is not for them. The high school teachers were wonderful and the counselor, Mr. Wellman, is by far the best. My son's counselor at NWCTA dropped the ball and therefore I had to pay for my son to take a Health class online that cost me $150.00. It was Mr. Wellman who caught it on his transcripts. Your kid has got to be motivated and up to the challenge. The only thing I had to pay for were the books for his college classes. Well worth it!! Be aware that if your child does not pass the college courses, you will have to reimburst the college. No transportation available but well worth the effort and sacrifice to attend this high school.
