The school seems to pay very little attention to students throughout the year, unless it’s to single them out for something they’ve done wrong. I’ve reached out multiple times asking for support with my child, only to be told that it’s ultimately the student’s responsibility. While I understand the rules around phone use in class, the way the school handles confiscated items is unnecessarily difficult for parents.

Requiring parents to come to the school to retrieve items they paid for is extremely inconvenient. What’s more concerning is being told by the front desk that this policy is intentionally designed to inconvenience parents. That kind of mindset feels dismissive and out of touch, especially considering that not all home situations are the same, and policies like this can create bigger issues for students over relatively small mistakes.

Overall, the attitude from some staff comes across as condescending rather than supportive. It feels less like a learning environment and more like a place where students are disciplined without being genuinely guided or helped.

We've had nothing but trouble from this school. They've taken away lockers and my child has MS so its incredibly hard to carry a heavy backpack all day long. My child was actually bullied there too. One counselor was pretty decent. Everyone else there seems incompetent, confused & lazy. The front desk is usually answered by student children. Seems like not enough staff. Sometimes adults answer the phone but they give you the wrong info and then the next day you find out that they were wrong. They started a new tardy policy this year as well for being late to first period. Im a disabled, single parent now and when my car broke down and we were late to school by 3 minutes, we had to wait in a LONG LINE stretching outside the doors in the cold and rain while they slowly write hand notes and enter info into the computer. It makes the children take even l0nger t0 get t0 class. Then the attendance clerk, wh0 seemed angry that she had t0 help the lady checking in late students, said t0 me in fr0nt 0f the wh0le quiet 0ffice full 0f parents and students "D0 y0u think y0u can start getting him here 0n time because he has a l0t 0f tardies. S0 many days tardies. WHAT is the pr0blem?" My p00r kid shrank. I still had t0 get my y0unger child t0 sch00l and had b0rr0wed a family members car that m0rning because mine w0uldnt start." Sch00l staff embarrassing children in fr0nt 0f their peers is p00r behavi0r and unpr0fessi0nal while c0nfr0nting parents wh0 are waiting in a l0ng line. The attendance clerk seemed like she didnt like d0ing her j0b and hasn't had any training in cust0mer service skills. In the winter we all have t0 wait 0utside in the c0ld in l0ng lines if 0ur child is late t0 first peri0d. They just made this a new thing this sch00l year and 0nly at this sch00l. All my 0ther kids sch00ls in the same district d0nt d0 this. D0nt let y0ur child g0 t0 this sch00l. N0b0dy kn0ws what theyre d0ing and I've even had a c0unsel0r schedule an app0intment with me and then c0mpletely f0rget ab0ut it.

I'm an 8th grader here, been here all throughout my three middle school years. Lemme be brutally honest about this place, This school isn't all that good.. at all. The students here are either way too disrespectful or just simply considered bullies, Most teachers couldn't even ever consider your own mental well-being and they often pick favorites and discard you, The food here is honestly not all that good to the point I started to pack my own lunch from home every single day, and even general staff are very snarky whenever you even ask them a simple question. Some teachers over-pressure you with work, while some other teachers give you work and just don't even fairly grade it even if you do it well. Most of the good teachers leave the next year, and the rules in this school are too much. Like the one-way hallway, why was that even made? The walk-arounds get annoying and then teachers constantly bug you about going all the way around to go to a class that's right across the hallway. you can't eat on the blacktop, they restrict you on many things, some teachers are overly dramatic, and there's so much more worse about this school that it is hard to place it into words.

All they do is give you is work and never explain anything to you and when you ask they yell at you

Posted: December 3, 2017

They say they are all nice at the start of school then they are just plain rude I have As and Bs and they don’t care they will yell at you even if it’s a good student

Posted: December 3, 2017

They are horrible people I rember not wanting to go to school some days because how mean they are

Posted: December 3, 2017

All the students are rude they all are just not nice and there is to many fights every week there is at least two but that most of the 7th and 6th graders

Posted: December 3, 2017

They are nice about the piece of their students go they give out free tutoring in and actually works that’s the only good thing about this school

Posted: December 3, 2017

I would rate it horrible I’m so glad I am a 8th grader . I’m so ready to get out of this school. An go somewhere else I believe molasky shouldn’t be a school. Some days I wish I was homeschooled. Wish I was zoned for a different school

Teachers follow the district guidelines and assign age-appropriate amounts of homework. Sometimes it looks like more because students don't get their work done in class and have to finish it at home.

Posted: November 9, 2017

There is a great cross-section of teachers with a wide variety of approaches.

It is sad to see the negative reviews that come from a few disgruntled inviduals. I have had my children at other middle schools with 5-star ratings and feel strongly that the teaching staff here is superior to theirs. The teachers care and realize that the children are more than test scores. If you ask what motivates a teacher's actions at this school, you will never here banter about common core, test scores or maintaining status in the district. The whole child matters here.

I am a seventh grader at this school and I have to say that this school is not that bad. You have fights yeah, but the kids that get beat up are the kids probably talking about people and starting problems. The teachers are okay. Half of them are good the other half don't care about your students. The deans suck at solving problems and the students are really funny and friendly. Other than that the learning experience is great. Send your children to Irwin Susan Molasky Middle School. They will have a great time.

Okay, look. My school isn't as bad as some reviews claim. Sure, there are fights, but they usually last seconds before the staff come and stop it. This is my last year at Molasky, and I had good and bad memories. I made many friends too. I bet half of the students who gave this school a 1 star is because they always get in trouble.

Molasky has got to have some of the rudest staff members I have ever come across. Everytime I contact this school whether over the phone or in person, I get treated disrespectfully and the staff members are jsut plain rude. There are a few staff members at Molasky that are decent and use common courtesy but outside of those few these folks need to be re-trained on interpersonal skills.

Molasky has some of the most rude, lazy, and obnoxious students ever. I attended my 7th and 8th grade years at Molasky, and i couldn't wait to leave. If you are, by society's definition of "different", then expect bullying. Unless you are a very outgoing person, you won't have many friends, it took me about three months to even make one friend, and all due to my extreme shyness. There are fights every week at that school, and a lot of bullying. I have had the privilege to have two great teachers, but most of them don't care, and the students don't care. The students are so rude to the teachers, that one of the teachers quit because the students were too much for her, and that was just recently. If you think that Molasky is a good school, because it is in a "nice" neighborhood, think again. I would never recommend to any parents to enroll their child into Molasky.

Seriously this school is NOT that bad. There's some aspects that are bad but it's not horrible. I spent three years at this school and i enjoyed it. I didn't have any huge problems with the administration nor the teachers. The students in the school are also pretty nice and i made a lot of close friends. The only issue i have is that there are a lot of fights in the school. I would enroll your child because it is A LOT BETTER than other schools. This middle school is heaven to other school in Vegas.

This school is amazing! My child goes there and is very happy. All of her teachers are amazing. They make sure their students are doing good. They have on of the best music programs. She has been taking Guitar for 3 years. The teacher, Mr.Schell, respects all his students and makes them laugh. He picks hard music because he has faith in his students and he knows they're skill level is amazing. He doesn't doubt them and gives them great advise. The principal is always doing fun things and interacting with the students. My daughter and son love this school. This school is amazing!

I came from a very good school district, and this is nothing like I've experienced before. Before we moved I had looked up the rating on this website, and these reviews are true! My English teacher swears at the students, the staff in the office are extremely rude; when I asked the first day where the parent pickup was the office lady rolled her eyes at me. If you are coming from a very nice school district I would highly recommend you not enroll your child into this school. As a new 8th grader, this is nothing like I've ever imagined. Only about 1 of my teachers are normal. My classmates are extremely lazy, rude, and loud. They don't do their work at all and expect to get high grades. Not only are the students at this school disrespectful, but they are not open to making new friends. When I moved for the first time, the students all wanted to be friends with me. These students will not open their hand to you. I have only made 1 good friend who moved here herself last year. It was only the first week and I experienced my first fight at this school, and by what the other students said there were many more to come! Whatever you do, do NOT enroll in this school!

TERRIBLE school. I hate it. About 9.5/10 of the students are rude, lazy, and loud. I attended eighth grade at this school, and it was just awful.

Posted: December 2, 2011

Terrible school!!!! The administration (principal and staff) are very, very rude and won't do anything to protect your child!!! My son is a great student and the school didn't even give me the respect to return my calls!

Posted: December 14, 2010

Okay. Honestly my school isn't as bad as everyone claims it is. There are excellent teachers on staff in all grade levels. Yeah, there are fights at this school but you cant really stop that. And grant it there are bad kids but in reality, there has always been those bad kids no matter where you go. You just have to just stay away from them. Our principal, is so good with money he gave us laptops, and have three computer labs, and kept all the art programs. So yeah, they really aren't that bad.
