This school is trash, administration has absolutely no control over students. Children are allowed to leave campus after arriving on buses and there are constant fights here. We definitely experienced discrimination while attending the school. Teachers will let your children fail classes before reaching out and usually by then it's too late. If they label your child as a problem child expect a call every single day whether it was your child or not. I'm glad the school is being ripped down. Zero policies are put in place for students and bullying, not a safe school

It is not going well for my student. My emails and voice-mails are not getting returned. I am not being informed of changes before they happen.

Its a old School. There are a few good teachers but alot are arrogant and rude. I asked for help for my Student and was told everything was fine. It was not fine and now he seems to be getting punished for them not helping earlier. They are at the School its their responsibility to intervene and help students.

Leadership as in the principal, they do seem to be effective, they take action quickly when an issue arises. As far as Teachers it seems their hands are tied more than anything.

I do not have experience with this.

The teachers do basically nothing, passing the buck to the principal, who does crack down on it. But one person does not make a school. Kids are being pushed, tripped, hair pulled in the hall with 2 or more teachers as monitors. Either it is hard to see because of the sardine like nature of middle schools or they are always looking in the wrong direction.

As a parent, I find that teachers play an integral role in being a monumental role in our kids lives. They are the conduits between parents and their kids learning. Unfortunately whether it is the teacher or the schools pushing it, certain teachers have shown that their mentality is "not my problem" shoving off key issues and responsibilities that were and seemingly always have been a teachers job, whether it is working with the parents to insure their kid is doing the work needed ( provided the parent is showing up to try too) or tackling/ being a stopgap of bullying and harassment, it shows that the level of care shown to the kids' education is bare minimum at best. Our kids see that and take advantage of it. "Oh I can get away with X for a long time because the teacher doesn't handle it" And the only times the parents or kids can really try and talk to some teachers about anything without being brushed off is the very short and sparsely populated parent teacher conferences. For kids its "talk to the counselor" then "Talk to the principal" for parents its "Check parent portal" they check and there is no updates on homework but still ses that the very same teacher says their kids are missing assignments. It honestly feels very disjointed and disingenuous, as if those teachers do not care for the kids' education nor the parents attempt to help.

Check parent portal...yet half of the teachers do not update it effectively saying that there is missing work without showing what work is missing. When the parents come in to try and resolve the issues with their kids success or failure in class they get met with that. Certain teachers do not care about the success of their kids because when it comes to homework they basically ignore any attempt for the parent to rectify it.

Even when knowing a kid's weakness, they still choose not to help strengthen or get them to work around it. Once again ignoring when a kid needs something or is being bullied. In fact their only recourse is "talk to the principal about it" meaning that even if something is happening right in front of them, they will do nothing but the bare minimum. Even if a kid comes to them in tears that is all they will get.

Bullying is prevalent, kids are not pushed to do any work it seems more like a teaching style of college than a middle school, while I would say some of the teachers are incredible compassionate and respectful and try to impress it upon the kids, unfortunately there is only so much they can do.

Personally, I love this school. The teachers are strict but that is to be expected. They have to deal with some tough students, AND parents. They don't play favorites and do the best they can user the circumstances. If people didn't jump to conclusions, they could see through their doubt and realize this school is really good, and I speak that as a student who has previously been to other schools. Just because pine is in a tough neighborhood, doesn't mean it is a bad school.
