Really love how the teachers communicate with the parents of course as a parent you have to be on top of your child’s grades or missing assignment on infinite campus on a weekly basis. I love how the alerts come on. Also, the teachers are more than willing to work with your child to turn in assignments on teams, the orchestra wonderful

I am absolutely astounded with how awful this place is. The staff doesn't care if your child is failing. My daughter was failing 5 classes and not a single teacher reached out. I had to engage all of them. A few of them finally responded when I told them how disappointing it was that I had to engage them first over her failing grades, then she was physically assaulted several times, one of which she had to be monitored for a concussion. They did nothing to punish the party involved. But my last straw, I understand teaching kids about sex and pregnancy. Those are things we learned but to have your children in a 7th grade ELA class get up in front of everyone and talk about your sexual preferences and what you like sexually in front of your class only to be ridiculed by other students abs the teacher does nothing? I finally had to pull my child from the school. They just don't care. The dean was horrible, nothing but smoke and mirrors. Principal? You were lucky if he reached back out to you. I never thought in my life that I would ever have to consider home schooling but here we are. This school doesn't care if your kid is failing but runs it like a jail, assigned seats at lunch?? You care about the wrong things and your students grades and mental health is always hanging in the balance.

The children are not comfortable with their teachers. The administrators will protect bullies and penalize the students that are being threatened. They will suspend students for just walking with other students. They refuse to meet with parents or provide evidence of the reason of a suspension. They will constantly pull students out of instruction.

I don't know where the high rating comes from. My daughter has been bullied at this school for all the years she's been here. There is no action from anybody on any level about it. She gets called names and mocked. She gets harassed and her bike gets deflated and called ugly. She's told the management and we did many times but nothing changed. She's had a severe depression from this school. Teachers get frustrated and talk vulgar about things and parents. Principal and assistant show aggression towards parents when trying to help their children, not towards bullies.

Our experience with Mendive Middle School had been wonderfully positive. We are highly impressed with their current administration as he and his counselor and teachers are responsive and caring. The Principal is a hands-on leader, great communicator, and very caring adult. We see him as a daily crossing guard, participating actively in extra curricular activities, and highly responsive to bullying issues and other safety issues that naturally occur in a middle school setting. They do an exceptional job providing for the academic and social needs, as well as, the safety of the students and families especially considering the overcrowded nature of the school. Mendive has an exceptional music program. Our experience has been solely with the orchestra program and it is our opinion that Miss Rader should be awarded teacher of the year!
