As a former student of this school
was absolutely terrible in my experience. They definitely have the issues they need to work on. The P.E teacher was very picky and choose about favorites and would deliberately leave students that were considered weaker or bigger to the sidleines when it came to anything sports wise rather than teaching the sport. When I went a teacher threw my art work in the trash for one and from the people I see that went/ go there she's still rude and completely driven by numbers in class being high. Focus on your students well being! the education there is actually good just socially not the best. I was an autistic nuerodivergent child and never got explained to when I did
something wrong or got acutely
taught how to reflect just pure fear of
punishment. Do better with children
that need more help. And maybe actually explain to children why thing sare wrong so they dont just be afraid of you and your staff. And they never took bullying seriously and would make the "bullying" seem either more severe than it was or not care at all because its "just kids being kids". The original principal was probably the worst one but the new one is wonderful and does her job so well she was always very sweet. The choir program when I went had a female teacher that clearly hated her job and would complain all the time. She didnt want to teach us anything important about music. And the "acting" portion is barely a program, the teacher for that one was very funny and sweet though at least towards me. Barely any supports for the arts if your child is passionate about it. And any counseling support was awful because they had counselors in and out literally all the
time and there was one good one and she left.

The people that complain about bullies, seem to be the ones who bully the most. Many have noticed that the kids that bullied are no longer at this school so the problem has taken care of itself. The people that have posted many negative things as of late are mad for other reasons and their slander and defamation have no place here. I have had a child go through k through 8th here and I can tell you that a boy that claimed to have bullies, was in fact one of the biggest bullies there. His pompous mother has since pulled her children from the school and I wish she would have done it sooner so that my now 9th grader could have enjoyed their last year at that school. My kids love this school and my other child will finish here as well. The teachers all have at least a bachelors with their required teaching certificates. So do not believe anyone who says that the teachers are unqualified. They must not know what unqualified truly means. St. Francis has the highest test scores and it is the model Catholic school in the diocese for which much is modeled after. Don't listen to the disgruntled people and go check this school out for yourself. You will be happy that you did.

The students are given homework that coincides with their lessons that day.
The teachers are available for questions and homework is posted on their website each day so there is no mixups.

The teachers are qualified, helpful and friendly.

I love this school's sense of closeness and family. They are taught moral values and they do their best to live by them.

Posted: September 14, 2019

I have always been able to go to the leadership if I had any problems, and my problems were addressed in a positive manner.

Posted: September 14, 2019

Children with learning differences are noticed very quickly and an education plan is put in place for them.

Posted: September 14, 2019

There are bullies here, as there are with any school. I have always found the bullies eventually end up pulling their kids out of the school, so all is well.

The teachers give the materials in the class and it is your responsibility to teach at home,. You actually sign a paper saying you agree to finish the schoolwork at home. Which turns into hours of homework and frustration.

Very high turn over in teachers and principles. The first and fourth grade teachers are amazing.

Posted: September 12, 2019

The classes are crowded and the teachers are oerwhlmed so kind of the anything goes mentality.

Posted: September 12, 2019

Total hypocrisy in this school. The priest preaches one ting on Friday morning mass and the teachers do the exact opposite during the week.

Posted: September 12, 2019

They will write a plan but not enforce it.

Posted: September 12, 2019

Several children have been bukllies here and nothing happens. No discipline. The children who are bullied suffer

Posted: September 12, 2019

We were very disappointed. If you are looking for a school that embodies the Catholic religion, this is not the place for you. Try the other Catholic schools in the area. Or even the magnet programs, which are amazing, have support systems, and are free.

Favoritism abounds throughout the faculty, and favorite students get special treatment

Posted: September 12, 2019

Not at all, and makes them feel inferior

Posted: September 12, 2019

There is massive bullying amongst the kids who attend, although bullying is outlined as not appropriate, and will not be tolerated, it happens consistently, and when brought to the administration's attention, it to falls on deaf ears, and no action is ever taken

I personally would keep my kids away from this school and regret ever having them attend this school in the first place. For the first couple of years they were there, it was not bad, but progressively deteriorated to the point where I believe they should lose their license to teach any children.
Good teachers have come and gone, or should I say forced out by the current regime, I hope those teachers are doing better away from this awful place.
The only positive things I can say about this school is that we were able to meet some great families who we are very close to, even to this day, even though what initially brought us together was how dissatisfying the school and its programs were. I guess there is strength in suffering.
The reason we chose to put our children in this school was due to it being based on Christian beliefs, and felt the private school atmosphere would prepare them in the future, along with what seemed to be a family atmosphere in the beginning, unfortunately as stated previously this deteriorated rapidly over the years, and moving them to another venue felt as if it would disrupt them adversely, although looking back, I would have removed them earlier and dealt with the effects later.
My advice for what it's worth would be to stay very far away from this school and its administration, and I regret not making this change sooner for our poor children.

My son just started 1st grade and he said it was awesome! They have a "reading to the saints" program where the children read to St. Bernards. Now my son loves to read. Staff in office is fabulous and principle is Top Notch.
